If you are looking for absolute top-notch transmission experts, look no further than812 Remsen AvenueBrooklyn, NY 11236When all of a sudden my car broke down on a highway at 55 mph, it wasn't fun at all. Having never been in such a situation before, I called my good trusted mechanic for help, and my car was towed to his place. I was quite sure that the problem was simple. But, on the next day I got a phone call and he said: "Your transmission is 100% DEAD. I do not deal with transmissions and you need a lot of very specific complex work. I recommend John at Lee Myles Transmissions - he'll take good care of you!"Understandably, I was undecided at first, but agreed with my mechanic to give John at Lee Myles a shot. And... Oh boy, WAS I IMPRESSED!My car was towed to John's place for FREE! After a couple of days of work on my car and a brand new 100% custom rebuilt transmission block, John courteously gave me a call, explaining the whole process in every detail, inviting me for a test drive. That day, I came to Lee Myles Brooklyn at 812 Remsen Avenue and met John personally. A rarely honest person and small business owner, John gave me a tour of the facility and once again explained in smallest detail everything relevant to my car......As I approached my car, its hood was open and the engine was idling. For the first time ever, the engine sound was so soft and quiet, I could hardly hear its hum! John said: "Try driving it - I've already test-driven it and it shifts beautifully." I drove my car and could not even recognize what I am driving - it felt like a brand-new luxury automobile. And this feeling has been quite consistent for 150 miles already. I look forward to the same feeling for another 24,000 miles!Thank You, Lee Myles Brooklyn!
So of course my 120,000 mile, 15 year old (2001) JEEP broke down and my mechanic that I've been using for almost 20 years told me the tranny blew and it'd cost about 4 grand for it to be fixed. With that news, I was better off just to sell the car. The next day at work I had to drive my wife's Solara in to work (my job requires my truck for tools etc..) so you could imagine how all my buddies at work looked at me when I pulled up. During lunch, I was overheard by a coworker arguing with my mechanic over the phone. When I hung up, she walked over to me and handed me a business card for Bay Ridge Transmissions. She told me how well she was treated there and how hands on and knowledgeable the owner Rick is. I figured it couldn't hurt so I gave him a call. He answered the phone with a pleasent BayRidge Transmissions. I told him the story and how I was told it would cost an arm and a leg to fix. He told me I could bring the car down for a FREE computer diagnostic and will check it out and give me an estimate. Of course the car was not driveable so once I told him that , he offered to have the car towed to his shop. I was uneasy in moving forward but, with my coworkers push, I felt I should try it out. I met him once I got off work and to my surprise my car was there already and the diagnostic had been complete / his men had checked it out. With my stomach churning I asked if he'd come up with an estimate. He looked me dead in the eye and said 4000...I went white. That was the same price my mechanic gave me! Then as quick as he said that he gave a little smile and said only kidding in which I gave out a chuckle and a sigh of relief. He told me it'd only run about 2230 which is almost half of what I was going to be charged by the guy I was with for over 20 years !. I gave him the go ahead, and gave him a downpayment . A couple of days later I recieve a call my cars ready and to come pick it up. When I arrive and give Rick the rest of the payment for the 2230, he counted it out and handed me back 500! I could not believe it. He could have easily kept it and ripped me off but instead he was a true honest professional mechanic and told me it cost less than he thought. He gave a 1 year / 100k warranty for me (my old mechanic only gave 6 month) I have 6 months left of my warranty and since I have gotten the car back it has never ran better! Thank you Rick and thank you Bay Ridge Transmissions ! Forever thankful and will be my go to spot / refer to guy!
Took my car to this place on 2/7 when my transmission stalled and ultimatly died because it was recommended to me by a friend who lives on 10th street. It took Jaime and his crew 38 days to rebuilt my tranny. I picked up the car on 3/14 after paying a small ransom of $2300 for a 2005 Nissan Maxima, plus an additional $180 for some front and back shocks. Two days later I take the car for new tires at Sears on Bedford avenue, to only learn that the wheel key to my locks had never been returned to my vehicle. It was told to me by Jaime that the key was in the center console, which I later found out not to be true. When I went back to the garage, the short fat mechanic who worked on my car, basically swore he put it in there, fact is he never did. Not only that, I felt that the shocks that they put on should've felt a lot smoother so I ask the mechanics at sears to put the cars on the lift to ensure they put the new shocks that I gave them on, and yes they did, but further learned of a leak to my power steering fluid. When I confronted Jaime and his crew about this. Mind you, this leak did not exist before I took my car to his shop. So far the transmission seems to be ok, but don't hold your breath. I have a 6 month guarantee. I now have to inconvienance my time to return to his shop on Saturday to get the locks taken off and new ones put on, all of course at his expense. I further will have to sue him to get him to repair the power steering fluid hose they ruined, that they have no intention of taken responsibility for. Do not go here, just by the looks of the way his guys work, you can tell they are very irresponsible with parts and cars. Not to mention noticed two new nicks in my beautiful red max that I didn't have before.
Great service, great price, knowledgeable engineers. Privately owned so service was very personal. The guy knows transmission.
Horrible. Simply the worst shop in nyc. They scam you to think they know what they are doing and keep your car indefinitely. Extremely expensive. Horrible customer service. Stay AWAY From Cemco
I wouldn't recomend them because their workmanship is not good . The shop will take your car from you and install a new transmission for you ,in my case 1800.00 everything worked good for about ten months ,16,000 miles later the transmission they installed stopped working. After 15 months they wanted me to pay them the discounted rate of "1,300.00 " for another transmission SO BEWARE IF YOU HAVE THEM DO THE WORK THEY WILL ONLY STAND BY THEIR WORK FOR THE TWELVE MONTHS !!!!!!!!!!!
