This place is the worst ever. I had a $600 dress damaged by negligence on the part of the owner. The lady who operates this shady operation damaged my dress while dry cleaning it and offered no apology. On spite, she said my dress was in that condition from before I brought it in. Do not go this nasty lady who is unsavory-oriented and unscrupulous. You have been warned.
Unfortunately she has a good reputation in the community which is why I went to her. She had my wedding dress for 7 weeks. I picked up my dress the morning of my wedding and it WAS NOT DONE! She charged me 350$ instead of 185$ and SHE DID NOT DO THE WORK. I had no choice but to pay her because I had to get married that day. She yelled at me because I contested the amount. She told me that the work was impossible to do. I asked her why she didn't tell me that when I brought her the dress. She started yelling that I'm not doing her any favors by giving her work. It makes no sense to me and she is obnoxious for doing that. I spent 2 hours pinning in the dress and the CUSTOM MADE top that should have fit me. And then had my friends pin up the bustle for an hour which she claimed was impossible. I tripped and fell on my face a's soon as I put the dress on. Worst nightmare come true due to her lack of professionalism. She is a nasty piece of work. I called after the wedding and complained to her, she yelled at me more and said I was the problem and how dare, I was the first complaint she had in 12 years. Explain how I'm the problem when she can not deliver my dress after 7 weeks? It was not even ready the morning of my wedding. I wasted an hour for Lola to steam the shirt that was not ready even. The work was done extremely poorly, she cut the fabric very unevenly, and what I asked was not done. My top was not ready after 7 weeks. I paid much more than our agreement and I got yelled at. And my wedding dress was ruined. She is absolutely awful to work with.
I wish I could say good things but they completely mishandled a botched tailoring job. In taking up two straps of a dress, the seams became completely misaligned and the dress unwearable. When I returned, asking for the tailoring charge back as well as a small sum to cover a fix by a better tailor, they said no, insisting that they are not marketing themselves as high end tailors and shouldn't have known the rest of the dress was going to be affected. Just a silly way to handle the situation. Cannot speak for the dry cleaning, but beware the tailoring at all costs.
1st, they don't deserve one star. Amanda has absolutely no idea how to tailor a wedding dress!! She butchered my friends very beaded dress. Instead of admitting she didn't know how to work on a dress like that and that she took it in way too much, she just took my friends money and worked on the dress anyway. She even claimed that she had to call her "mentor" in order to learn how to work on the dress. Any professional tailor, doesn't need to call a mentor, they should just know. I've been in fashion for 10 years and I knew exactly what to do the minute I saw the dress. She has a lot of "FASHION" books but no knowledge on how to tailor an intricate garment as well as having no manners for that matter. She also changed her story each session. She had the bride go back 7 times, each time worse than the next. She's insulting and yelled at the bride and her mom each time and blamed them for her own incompetence. She definitely overcharged and is just a nasty person.
Had to hem my pants last minute. Glad they were open
Horrible cleaners and especially tailoring. I have been their customer for a couple of years because it is right next to my house but will not go there ever again. Other than always giving me my clothes back a few days late and making mistakes with tailoring, they have lost my very expensive pair of pants and she did not want to refund me my money for the pants or buy me the same pants even though she knew very well that it was her fault..."I'm sorry" alone does not do me any good. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Stay Away!!!!! I went G. O. Hussey to get some things tailored, this guy overcharged me. He didn't specify the prices. (I was really tired and I didn't realize till after the fact I was getting scammed). I asked people in the neighborhood around what time he comes in to work, they told me " if you want your stuff you better park outside of his store to catch him." I called him many times he never picked up his phone. I came home to look at more reviews online, and I came across one that said, " I gave him 2 suits of mine to get tailored and put a $100 dollar deposit down" and the guy never got his suits costs around $500 or money back!
