I read the reviews here and decided to get a navel piercing done around 2 weeks ago. To this day, I see no redness, signs of infection, or discharge... overall my healing has been spectacular (of course with the recommended aftercare). I thought I'd be embarrassed to enter a place full of hardcore tattoo-ed guys, but the experience was quite nice actually. The piercer took his time and made sure that everything was clean and sterile, that the piercing was placed correctly, and that it was close to painless. Would recommend to anybody wanting a piercing done.

I actually went to Pure Body Arts to get a new piercing, but at the last minute I wimped out and instead got an old tattoo fixed up by Eduardo. I'm relatively new to the city and I know I want to do a bunch of new tattoos and piercings in the next couple years so I wanted to find a place where I can build some trust, and this place feels like it could be lilke that. Very comfortable, friendly environment. I'll be back for sure and I've recommended it to friends as well.
Being a piercer myself, there is only person in the industry that I will allow to do my body mods, Brian Decker at Pure. I have been to him several times for work. It's about a 45 minute drive (without traffic) and it's well worth the time. He will answer all questions you have prior to the procedure, and if you should happen to have a problem with whatever you had done, he has an answer to correct it. The shop is clean, and the atmosphere is very calming if you are nervous. His pricing is what I consider ridiculously low, especially considering who he is. Those in the industry would agree, he's worth alot more than he charges. Every time I walk out of Pure, I am happy as hell. I send many people to him for the more exotic/unusual work that you can't get out where I am. A visit to Brian is always a great experience. Pure is definitely worth checking out.
this is deffinately the cleanest, friendliest enviornment i've been in when getting any body mods done. brian decker is knowledgeable about what he does and takes everything into consideration, i will never go to any other piercer for anythying ever again after going to pure body arts. i 've seen the skill brian decker has for this art and nobody else could compare. he's also got reasonable prices for what you want!!!

Pure is an amazing shop and definitely should be on everyone's list for places to stop by if you're in the area. Eduardo did a great tattoo on my friend on the spot, and Brian, well Brian did an AMAZING scarification and not enough good things can be said about these two guys. They have awesome jewelry in small AND large sizes (for stretched piercings) which is something I haven't found here in Miami, Fl. The shop is sterile and very professional looking. It's just a great shop, and honestly, the prices are great considering Brian Decker is basically famous in the mod industry. You get QUALITY in this shop, which is not something to be said for every other shop in New York.

I've only had work done by Brian and I can definately say that he is the best artist I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and having work done by. He is by and far the person I'd choose to do my work if I had to pick between all of my artists! Get in there! He's more than willing to work, loves his work, and you'll love both!

Okay, first of all, I don't go around giving out commendations to things that don't deserve it. However, Pure Body Arts happens to be an exceptional shop, and is the only place that I go to for piercing/tattoo work.
If you go there, go see Brian, he'll take good care of you. That man has some serious skills, lots of experience, and above all is a great guy with excellent bedside manner. I was so impressed the day I had my first appointment with him.
I'm constantly recommending this place. It's a no-brainer, the best work comes out of Pure, so go there to get the best.
I can't say enough good, just go!

I've been a customer of Brian Decker's for over two years now and I can safely say that I would follow him anywhere to get the quality of work that he provides. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my piercing or scarification needs. And his work is extremely reasonably priced (almost ridiculously so). Pure is a great, clean, beautiful shop in a location with ample parking that is also easy to find from the subway. Why go anywhere else when you can get the best for the same price?
Pure is THE place to get pierced or tattooed! Not only you'll receive the most experienced, professional treatment ever, but you'll also find friendly, honest and supportive advice for every body art project you may come up with. The artists are not just professionals, they are approachable and creative and will go to great lenghts to make your experience a truly unforgettable one. The environment meets the highest hygene standards and safety always comes first at Pure. You'll be very happy with them. I was, and can't wait to go back. Be careful, though, you'll be hooked :)
Pure Body Arts is by far the best body art shop I've ever been too - ever. Not only are the artists knowledgeable about their fields, but they are all super friendly as well. When it comes to piercing, scarification, and tattoos, Pure Body Arts is the place to go. I've been a client of Brian Decker's for a little over 4 years now, but you don't have to take my word for it.....
I've been to this shop numerous times. The atmosphere is clean and attractive looking. The staff's techniques are all well researched, and practiced. If you are looking for a great experience, and even better looking modifications, his is the place for you. The only downside might be the neighborhood it's in, but it's definitely a diamond in the rough. Their excellence really shines the most when you are looking for uncommon modifications. Brian Decker has more experience and acclaim then anyone in the city, when it comes to difficult modifications. If you have the chance to wander off the beaten path, do so. You won't regret it. This really is a amazing shop.
I've traveled several times to Pure from West Haven, Connecticut (about 76 miles each way). I've been tattooed once and pierced a few times, at Pure. There is no piercer on the East Coast that I trust as much as I do Brian; he is not only thorough, and a follower of sterility techniques that I wish my doctors emulated, but he also spends time talking with each client, no matter how busy the shop has been, to make the client feel safe.
I love the atmosphere inside the shop; Pure is always ""showing"" the work of several artists. The jewelry displays are fabulous - oh, to be able to afford it all! Brian Decker's portfolios are unique in that the photos are clear and the commentary for each is in matching fonts; they are easy to follow and give a good understanding of his work. If you go to the studio, make sure to spend time going through them!!
Unlike when the artists worked in Manhattan, they're now at a location where parking is not a problem. The neighborhood isn't great, but I've never had a problem finding parking, finding my car in the condition in which I'd left it, or with the people I pass on the street.
I highly recommend Pure, and I've written about the artists, the quality of their workmanship and of the shop itself for ModBlog and for Modified News.
If you're going to pay someone to modify your body, make sure that you go to the best person you can find. In my recommendation, for piercing and other modification work, that's Brian Decker.
If you want to get pierced or tattooed you should check out Pure Body Arts. Brian Decker one of the most professional piercers in the business and operates the cleanest shop in the city. I've had a lot of work done by him and I highly recomend this shop to everyone.
Of the piercing places I have been to, this is by far the cleanest and friendliest. The piercer has innovative piercing techniques to lessen pain and promote better healing. The prices are fair as well.
So all in all, I highly recommend it. Any and all piercings I have gotten here have healed well.
I've always had a pleasant experience at Pure. The artists know what they're doing and their top concerns are your safety and happiness. I've gone to Brian for both piercing needs and scarification work and not only is he VERY concerned with cleanliness, he did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and was very thorough with explaining the procedures. He's always done beautiful work, which you can check for yourself by looking at his portfolio, and his prices are more than fair.
