wonder why their website(s) don't have pictures of the rooms??? there's a great reason for that---the rooms vary by cleanliness and safety! first off, i rated it a "one" because the lobby is nice. that is the only reason. the downside to the lobby....packing to go cook dinner. if you live on one of the upper floors, forget it. you have to bring all your pots, pans, food, etc downstairs ***every time you cook*** because they throw away anything left in the cabinets/kitchen. my room for example: live wires hanging from ceiling, paint and caulk stuck to floors,(and sink, toilet, etc) mold on windows, not to mention the shower "not being finished" as one of the maintenance guys told me and my roommate. now back to the "varying" part. if you get an updated room...they are actually ok...carpet, new beds (captains beds), new mattress, etc, etc. if you don't, you're kindof screwed because the staff ***does not care**** aside from 1 guy, Nicholas. The others just say "oh, sorry" then ignore you. the front desk kid, yes...kid, told me that my room was "forgotten about during the cleaning process" before my roommates and i moved in. guess what that means? dirty clothes, hair, crumbs, crusted stains...all over the floor. and they did nothing about it. please save your money and look elsewhere!!!! don't make the mistake we did by living here.

I stayed at the St. George during an internship in Murray Hill right after graduating college and it was better than I ever expected. The neighborhood is so clean and beautiful and I will never forget seeing the view of the skyline and Brooklyn Bridge every day. The building and my room were better than anything I experienced at my college -- I felt very comfortable there and spent a lot of my time at the events they put on like movie nights and BBQs. It was also really quick to get into Manhattan because of all of the close subway lines, but a lot of times I found myself enjoying my neighborhood's nearby restaurants and cafes.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to move to NYC or not yet so it was a great way to feel out the city before signing a lease, especially because I met my future roommate who was also staying with EHS! I made many other good friends who I stay in touch with often. I would have definitely stayed longer at EHS but my internship was over sadly. I still think about the amazing french toast at the Clark Restaurant diner across the street and sometimes go back to eat it!

I lived in the St. George while I was interning in SOHO over the summer. It was my dream to live in New York City but didn't realize what the cost of rent was and so I was freaked out ... but when I found EHS online, I was like so excited because I knew I could actually afford it.
I lived in St. George which is in Brooklyn Heights and it was awesome cause I could take the subway right to work and into the city but I also had a great neighborhood feel around the residence. I had an amazing view of the City and was usually hanging out by the promanade... oh there's a great sushi place right around the corner!
I was kinda bummed i was no longer an intern cause I couldn't live with EHS anymore, so now I have to spend twice the money for half the space, further into the bk... but it's ok, NY is worth it! Definitely check out EHS if you want to enjoy manhattan and still have a positive balance on your bank account.
