Honest flute repair

I had a minor problem with my flute, but since I don't know anything about flute repair, Ruben could have charged me for it, but he didn't. I definitely would recommend Brooklyn Brass & Reed and would go back there in the future for instrument repair,.

Good Clarinet Repair

This is a good repair shop. The guy did a great service on my son's clarinet. I didn't have to travel to Manhattan and the price was reasonable.

Not so nice.

This man does not know how to clean flutes. He did a terrible job with mine and he obviously has very little experience. He charged me 70.00USD for something that a non-musician could have done. My tarnished, dirty flute was not improved whatsoever. Plus, he thought that he would get away with doing a primitive job on my flute directly under my nose!! What is this??? What a fraud. His attitude was like one of a dirty scheming idiot.

reliable instrument repair and consignment shop

A great resource for Brooklyn music teachers. Ruben takes older unwanted instruments (including strings) in exchange for credit toward repairs, and the repairs are solid. He also gives fair estimates for multiple repairs, and picks up instruments for repair in good time. (Outside of Brooklyn there's a delay on pickup and also a minimum number required for a repair to make the pickup worthwhile, so consider it a 9 for other boroughs).
