Based on Manager Renelle located at this branch. Called bank to inquiry about money that was damaged. Phone was automatically transferred to HSBC 800 number. Asked what is required to go to bank with the damaged money. HSBC Agent called branch and was told "must have more then one half of bill". I went to branch with damaged money, each bill was almost whole, in envelope. Spoke to Manager Raymond Renelle, he made me open envelope and glanced at first bill and said "Could not take the damaged money since he couldn't put thru machine"(how can you put damaged money thru a machine?). I asked is this HSBC Policy, he replied, "It's up to manager and I am the manager". He didn't even care that I was going to close my accounts. He said "Bring money to Federal Reserve Bank".(Federal Reserve Bank services are not for personal or business customers) Next day, called HSBC 800 number and explained my problem, asked what HSBC policy is for damaged money. Agent called BranchOperations and was told, bill must be more than half with the numbers.Then agent called 13th ave HSBC, and was told the same thing. (All my damaged bills are more than half and have the numbers)Someone told me "Go To Another HSBC Branch where they follow HSBC Policy".I have been with this bank for more then 50 years with both checking and savings accounts. Summary: Manager Raymond Renelle, obviously doesn't follow HSBC Policy and doesn't care if he loses a customer. Good Job Manager Raymond Renelle.

The bank in general is good, with one little exception - there is this young short russian guy who is VERY VERY VERY unpleasant. They should keep him in the back with his obnoxious mouth taped; instead, they put him in the front there he is enjoying being rude. He acts like he is above everybody and like he is doing you a great favor talking to you. Looks like a Napoleon complex. He's notary public there. If you don't need notary, I highly recommend to go to any other bank professional - NOT HIM (all the other people in the bank are great, by the way).

Sent me promo-- OPEN a new account with direct deposit, get $100Guy said all paperwork was good. One week later my check was deposited into old BANK.I go to Chase, guy said, "you have to fill out direct deposit paperwork with YOUR BOSS. I couldn't do it"PLUS, Since I NOW didn't have minimum amount of money in CHASE account, they charged monthly $10 fee and because I had NO money in account, because I opened account with DIRECT DEPOSIT, they charged an OVERDRAFT FEE (like $25 or $35) on their OWN $10 fee.Oh, and I was told if I deposited ANY money into account:1) I would not get $100 promo because money needed to be deposited when I opened account2) I would not have access to it for 5-10 days because it was new account. (which was fine, cause I didn't need to pay bills, get food, etc)I'm giving 1 star because Manager waived fees and let me close account.
