I began attending Pure Barre classes in late January. I was very hesitate to try because I have no previous dance or ballet experience, only yoga in the past. I am not flexible or coordinated either. I decided to give it a try and I have been going regularly ever since. I absolutely love going! I am seeing the best results I have ever seen from any other exercise class or program. I have toned up so much since January. Friends who have not seen me since the holidays are telling me how great I look. I have had two strangers ask if I am a runner recently. My flexibility has improved so much too! The staff and instructors at Inman location are always very friendly and have a lot of energy, even at the 6:00AM class. You can tell they love what they do! There are so many times I do not feel motivated to go, but once I am there, the instructors get me motivated. I am 38, so don't feel like Pure Barre is only for the young 20 somethings. There are women of all ages and sizes attending classes. One last thing, I have terrible back issues. It seems like every exercise program I did hurt my back. There are no heavy weights or equipment used in class or crazy moves. Pure Barre has actually strengthen my back. I really could keep going on and on about how much I love Pure Barre!
I attended classes at Body Talk for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful time. The instructors and the rest of the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The studio is beautiful and provides a very friendly ladies-only environment and the work out was tough, but fun. I took "Exotic Moves" with Mary Jane and she really had us moving and shaking... the chair and ab work was tough, but the music was fun and upbeat and everyone had a really good time. After that I tried the "Polerize" pole class with Chocolate, there were several more experienced students in the class, but she gave everyone plenty of attention and I loved that they have a limit of only 2 students to a pole. I have attended another pole class in the Atlanta area and this was far better than the other. For starters, everyone was in workout gear... not dressed in their underwear showing their behinds (and everything else) to the world. The prices are very reasonable, and I am thinking of having a party for my 40th birthday... best of all they can do it at my house if necessary. I went on their website and they even offer online classes which I may sign up for as well as I travel a lot for work, and could take classes from the comfort of my hotel.
This workout is an absolute blast and challenging too! Cyc offers beat based spin classes that make you almost* (operative word here) forget about how hard the class is. The playlists are great and the lighting effects (blacklight, lights out, red light etc) make the atmosphere fun/unique. Parking is super easy. Your first time going you may get confused on where exactly the studio is located. It is at Lenox Mall on the lower level (next to Macys) inside the gym the Forum. Pricing is in line with other Atlanta spin studios ($25) but unique to Cyc, shoes are free (vs. $2 or $3 at other studios).
Absolutely love working out here. It's one of the best workouts in town in a great location. The staff is always SO welcoming - you never feel like you're at one of those gyms where everyone knows what to do but you. Even though it's high-end, they are there to help everyone. The workouts are awesome - I never get off the bike without feeling like I'm entirely worn out! Only caveat: parking. They do validate, but you've gotta go up a bunch of levels in a parking garage, so allot yourself some extra time. Other than that, FlyWheel is my favorite gym in the city!
The BEST barre place in Atlanta! I think it really comes down to the instructors: Every single class I've taken here is different, so you never get bored and your muscles don't get used to the same routine. The classes are challenging enough to help you push yourself, but not so difficult you can't do it. And everyone's encouraged to do the exercises at their own pace. Simply love this place!
beautiful studio. The entrance is lovely, the room to workout in is large and airy, and the lockers are clean and safe. The class I took was good and hard, the teacher was good and the assistants were attentive. I had a hard time finding the teacher since he was wearing a wireless mic so the sound came from speakers and it was very crowded.
Great full body workout that's a combination of body sculpting, part yoga, and part pilates. Don't let the barre part fool you, no ballet experience needed. Classes scheduled at convenient times. Instructors are top notch. Great owners who are really supportive of the Morningside/VaHi community.
I always leave Flywheel with my butt kicked but feeling fantastic. It's totally worth waking up early for the morning classes, and you can't go wrong with Flywheel or Flybarre classes! My entire body was sore after my most recent Flybarre class and I got a great sweat/cardio workout in Flywheel.
My favorite work out ever! And I specifically love this studio. The teachers are fantastic, very knowledgable and helpful, and the classes are great. I love the energy of the workout, the motivation of being in a room with other exercisers, and the location can't be beat!
I love Flywheel! The first thing you'll notice upon walking in is how clean the studio is! The instructors are amazing. I love that they offer both spin and barre classes. Love their new location and it's right next door to Corso Coffee (latte, please)!
