        David Engstrand, MD, FACS, is a surgeon with Ascension Medical Group. Dr. Engstrand is board-certified in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He provides surgical care to patients aged 14 or older. Dr. Engstrand has a special interest in vascular and endovascular surgery; bariatric surgery; biliary tract and pancreatic surgery; colorectal cancer, breast cancer; and minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He wants his patients to know that he will use all his skills to heal and improve their lives. He became a surgeon, because he enjoys the knowledge and the challenges of the profession, and to be on the cutting edge of new surgical technology. He feels blessed to have had this opportunity in life and honored when a patient and family entrust him with their medical care. In our everyday lives none of us wishes to have illness thrust upon us, but when it is, he is there for his patients. Outside of the office, Dr. Engstrand enjoys spending time with his family, downhill skiing and travel.
