Do not waste your money in this place!! The food is ""plastic Italian/Spanish"", with that horrible out off the microwave taste. It is obvious that this ""restaurant"" does not even have a proper chef. To top off the subpar experince in this place, the service is very poor.

WE LOVED AND ALWAYS COULD NOT WAIT TO GO BACK!!! BUT NOW IT HAS CHANGED. IT IS NOT ONLY ITALIAN BUT NOW IT OFFERS SPANISH FOOD. WE CALLED BEFORE WE WENT BECAUSE THERE WAS A NEW SIGN UNDER THE SIGN (SOMETHING IN SPANISH) AND THEY TOLD US IT WAS THE SAME OWNERS. MAYBE IT STILL IS THE SAME OWNER BUT THE COOK MUST BE NEW. THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. THE SAUCE HAS CHANGED, THE BREAD HAD THAT FROZEN TO MICROWAVED TASTE, AND THE SERVICE WAS BEYOND TERRIBLE. MY HUSBAND IS SO SAD BECAUSE IT WAS HIS ALL TIME FAVORITE PLACE.... PEPPINO'S MAY IT R.I.P!!!

Well the food is not bad but the service is horrible. The restaurant used to be very good but they must be under new management. There was only one waitress. We waited forever for the food. Afterward, we waited forever just to pay. Then, she said that she could use my credit card because the machine offline so we paid in cash. Yet, I was still charged on my card! Don't go there. I am sure you can find better service and food that is just as good in the Bronx.

My wife and I live just over the Broadway Bridge in the Inwood section of Manhattan and often passed by Peppino's on our drives to Riverdale and places North. We never gave it much of a thought since it is located in a strip mall, and admittedly, we had preconceived notions about it. One disastrous Friday night, we had the crazy idea of thinking we could go to a City Island restaurant without any reservations and were forced to turn around when we couldn't even get ONTO City Island (and ditto for Anywhere on Arthur Avenue). Cranky, dejected, and starving we passed Peppino's on the way home and decided, why not?
That was over three years ago and my wife and I go at least 2-3 times a month. The food has always been good and the portions are hard to beat. You have your choice of ordering singly or family style, but the single portions are so large, my wife and I usually share an appetizer and entree. The staff is very friendly and will give you recommendations when asked. I will admit that it's not ""knock your socks off"" great Italian food, but it is consistently good and we have never had a bad meal or experience there. We now prefer going there than to most places in Little Italy or Arthur Avenue. A live piano player is there on Friday and Saturday nights. There is always a cheery atmosphere and people are always laughing and smiling. You never feel rushed.
There are two large rooms and one can usually find a large party or group of people in the ""party room"". The prices here are incredible- e.g. My in-laws and we ate 2 appetizers, 2 single entrees, 1 family style entree, two carafes of house red wine, and two after dinner cocktails for about $100.00. They beg us to take them there whenever they are in town!
