I was brought there by ambulance after sustaining injuries in a pedestrian accident. This hospital is terrible in patient care. One example is that while I was in their care I acquired 2 pressure ulcers ( bedsores). All the while they falsified the medical records by stating that they turned me every 2 hours, when in fact they never turned me at all. Also, in the medical record they lied about the size and stage of one of the bedsores. Reason for that is because all hospitals have to report all stage 3 and stage 4 bedsores to the State Department of Health. So, they recorded the size of the bedsore as being half the size that it was and they recorded it as a stage 2 instead of the stage 3 . This way they get away from not having to report to NYS Dept. Health. Oh, and they never even bothered to mention the very large stage one bedsore. The bedsores were never mentioned in the discharge papers, either. Good thing that the rehabilitation center that I was transferred to did a complete physical upon admittance, and recorded the bedsores correct stages and sizes. Oh, yes, the reading of my medical records left me astonished as to how Jacobi Medical Center even lies about other info. For example, a doctor stated that he had obtained my height and weight verbally from me. He wrote that I said my height was 5'- 6.5 " . The truth is that I never told him anything because I was going in and out of consciousness. Oh, and my height is 5'-1.5" and I have been that height for quite a few decades.......Believe me....Jacobi Medical Center deserves its March 2012 distinction by Consumer Reports as being THE WORST HOSPITAL IN THE COUNTRY. Well done, Consumer Reports....you nailed it!
