Was new in town. Was highly recommended by a coworker, and she was raving how great they were. Went there. Got my hair lightened (bleached). Processed twice. End result: burnt scalp, they didn't tone my hair, stayed their for more that 5 hours trying to figure how to tone my hair, burnt my hair bone dry! Just a horrible experience!!! I had healthy hair and they just ruined. I had to go to a real professional just to get my hair to somewhat in good condition. I would not recommend them at all! So beware!!! I wouldn't even give them a star. But I had to give them something just so that my review can be seen
Meg worked miracles. The color, highlights, lowlights, and cut are fabulous and I can't rave enough about my new look in addition to the experience at the Studio itself and with its staff. Meg managed to repair excessive damage done from my at-home, I'll save myself a few bucks coloring attempts.*Although this Salon is a bit of a distance, it is well worth the drive.
My hair was the one thing that I actually really enjoyed about my apperence. It was the one thing I put time and money into making it look nice. My hair grows at an extremely slow rate, and I've been growing it out since 2011 when I received a horrible bob cut. It was finally down to my hips and looking just the way I had wanted to. I went in for a TRIM. The ends we're getting dry so I wanted 2 inches off, MAX. She asked me if I wanted her to trim my old bangs (which I've been doing everything possibly to grow out since 2012) and I told her that I absolutley did not want my bangs trimmed. Well, I know have hair that is 6.5 inches short than it was yesterday. And bangs that are 2 inches shorter (which isn't a TON, but I asked them to be not touched at all.) It isn't a huge suprise though since Fran, the owner and only stylist at the studio, continusly answered the phone and would stop cutting to tell long detailed stories about her life very often. She was VERY distracted. My hair looks horrible and I cannot style it the way I used to at all. Bye-bye 5 years of expensive products and all the work I have put in to making my hair look nice. I will definitely not be returning and will never ever recommend that a friend goes here.
I DO love this salon. However I DID have ONE bad expierience that sent me away from them, for myself. I walked in one day & the FIRST thing I said was... I died my hair three weeks ago. Can I get a perm??? I can never remember. The girl took me in & could NOT stop talking about how long she had been dying hair for. Long story short. Half my hair fell out. She was NOT paying attention to the timer & she kept disappearing. What miffed me about this was that , ( HI - the owner ) was TWO chairs over! He NEVER said a WORD! He NEVER offered anything for it & just stopped looked & SEEN what had happenned & I STILL payed my hundred dollars for the perm. I said thankyou & left. I actually went BACK the SAME DAY & asked IF ANYTHING could be done to help it?? The girl cut most of my hair off & STILL got paid AGAIN for the cut. :( I will NEVER get a perm their again. I have gotten my hair DYED & PERMED since then three times, in three OTHER places & my hair has NEVER fallen out. She SHOULD have used a gentle perm & payed attntion. Of course with ALL of the gloating she was doing about how MUCH & how LONG she had been giving perms for I guess she should have KNOWN that huh..... I was NOT as angry about loosing my hair as I wa s about theBAD SERVICE & the fact that Hi was there & Said & DID OFFERED)(NOTHING.
I went and had my hair colored and highlighted and spent a lot of money. The next day my sister asked me when I was going to get my hair done to cover my gray. I was horrified! Either it wasn't left on long enough or someone doesn't know what their doing.
A literal nightmare. This group destroyed my hair through incorrect color. I had healthy salt and pepper hair, but just wanted tiny light highlights to give the impression that I had white streaks coming in naturally. They redid it and it wasn't any better. I have big blotches of different shades of yellow running through my salt and pepper hair. The streaks look like someone through paint at me and it indiscriminately landed wherever! My hair is turning green and they've burnt it to a crisp. They did refund my money, but refused to properly correct the damage they had done. The owner Meg and her daughter need to take a course in how to run a business. When a proprietor of a hair salon is responsible for a botched job like this, one would expect an apology and 'what can we do to correct this.' Not these women, instead they let their inexcusable and unwarranted egos get the best of them and told me to go somewhere else. Stay very clear of these incompetent women. If I ever treated my clients like that, I'd be out of business. Low caliber salon...stay clear!
Amanda is a wonderful stylist and colorist, I've gotten my hair cut by another female at 424 who also did a great job. One complaint: last time I got my face waxed it appeared that the woman double-dipped the stick into the wax-- a definite no-no regarding infection control! Prices are great for the quality of work overall.
