Kirk seems like a good guy and he works hard but his business is pretty fast and loose. I needed some garbage removed from a rental house, including a bunch of household garbage left on the curb. He came out with a helper the same day and looked over the curb garbage, the wood and equipment in the garage, the couple pieces of furniture in the basement, the small cinder block fire pit that needed to be removed, the tree stand that needed to be taken down and removed, and a few low tree branches that needed to be trimmed and came up with "a round figure" of $2000. I asked for references and he could not find the phone numbers in his disorderly notebook. (Eventually I did talk to a couple of happy past customers.) I asked for a estimate or work order and he scribbled out a list of things on a 5"x8" generic "job work order" which he wanted me to sign and take home and copy. (He never asked about it again and I still have the unsigned copy.) He kept talking up his services - "we will fix your clogged gutters, we will take out some of those weeds by your front door, we will repair the couple of knocked out railings on your deck" but he was always in too much of a hurry to do those things. He told me that the dump would charge him $700-$800 for all my garbage but he never produced a receipt even though I repeatedly asked. He continually asked for a check (for the full amount) from the first but we paid him $1500 when half the work was done and I had to hold back the last $500 until he finished all the removal that I could not do. (Again, he was in a big hurry.) I was sweeping sawdust from the garage when he declared his "bang up job" was done. He does work hard and maybe it was worth the money but I would suggest a couple of things. First, make a thorough list of all the things he says he will do for you, have him sign it, and don't finish paying him until everything is done. Second, when he is in a hurry to be done (get paid) and take care of other pressing matters tell him "I am sorry about your scheduling problems, but you will have to come back and finish before I finish paying you." Third, ask him to apply his "senior discount - 15%" after he writes you an estimate. Good luck.

All Away Services cut 16 trees down around my house. Kirt gave me a great price, nobody could even get close to that. The crew did a fabulous job and cleaned up the yard so well you could hardly tell they had been there. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
