DR Minerva Pineiro MD

My poor rating is simply based on the fact that Dr. Pineiro chooses to withhold medical information from my husband pertaining to his OWN children. My husband's kids have gained a large amount of weight in a yr and Type II Diabetes runs in both sides of the kids' families. It's very unfortunate that my husband's ex wife has no control on the phone, always wants to yell and curse and hangs up so talking via telephone with her is NOT an option. My husband called Dr. Pineiro to simply ask for their heights and weights and to ask if they could all come up with a plan to help the kids especially his son to lose weight. Dr. Pineiro refused to give out any information. He reminded her that they all knew each other and she is aware he is their father. She then asked him to fax papers to her proving he still had rights as a father based on the fact he was divorced! He said I am divorced from my ex not my children! He did fax papers proving he is entitled to such info pertaining to their medical and educational needs but she still refuses. He then asked her to fax him a copy of the legal document compelling her to withhold such information from him, she agreed she didn't have any such documents. She then said it was based on what she has heard through the grapevine that he moved out of state and makes NO attempt to be a father. While this is grossly untrue as she is not aware of Parental Alienation Syndrome in this situation she shouldn't hold herself to the low standards of grapevine information. Beware of any Dr who takes grapevine information as fact. If you are divorced and Dr. Pineiro decides to take one or the other side it could be you in this very situation as well. Something to think about with this Dr. She yelled at my husband throwing things up at him that she has heard via grapevine and she acted as though what she was saying was factual information. It was the most unprofessional behavior by a Dr. I have ever been witness too. We are currently being advised on this matter by an attorney.
