Hello, PLEASE READ I am very sad to write a bad review on Bermudez but I have to tell everyone so hopefully they will not go through what I did. I own a 2006 Mercedes E350 with 100 thousand miles, It would not start one day. I had it towed to Bermudez because my Wife was told he was a good foreign mechanic. He diagnosed the car and told me that both fuel pumps, yes plural had to be replaced. He also said since he had the gas tank out, that he recommends replacing the sending unit, because he already had the gas tank removed. When I picked up the car and it ran fine. A few days later the fuel gauge would not work. He said to bring it in and he would check it. He said the wiring harness was bad and replaced it. The next day the same problem with the fuel gauge. I took it back two more times and both times he said it was a wiring issue. I started to smell gas inside the car and Armando said the instrument panel was the problem and wanted to replace it and charge me. I told him the instrument panel is not the issue. The gauge worked fine before he replaced the sending unit, 3 times. He gave me a lot of double talk about Mercedes had a lot of recalls with that model and said take it to the dealer. Basically he was tired of working on my car and didn’t know how to fix it. It seemed he didn’t know what he was doing because the gas gauge works off of the sending unit and it was fine until he started working on it.
I finally took it to MBZ of Walnut Creek. The service tech diagnosed that the fuel pumps were put on wrong and they were leaking gas which puddled under the seat and carpet. Thank GOD my wife and children didn’t blow up!! I was shocked when the service writer told me that the gas puddled up on the wiring where the sending unit plugged into the fuel pumps.
Please, please do not take your car and do not use BERMUDEZ Auto Service!!!!!!!!!
Bermudez's Auto Svc & Repair's folks always do a great job - let me know the estimate, call me when they know what's going on with the car, and call me promptly to let me know I can pick my car up. The provide a ride for me when I need it. They are friendly yet professional. Most importantly the work they do is reliable and I know my car is fine when they're done with it and ready to roll again. This trust is priceless to me.
It's difficult today in the service industry to find a shop where dedication to customer service and pride in craftsmanship are the dominant theme. The girls and guys here though are getting it right. As a non-franchised, non-commissioned shop employees here are not financially motivated to sell any repair or service that isn't needed. Competitive pricing and accurate diagnosis are key factors in reducing the cost of automotive maintenance and repairs. I like knowing that when I drop off my car that I'll be called with a no obligation estimate that is guaranteed to fix the problem. A guarantee that also includes any part and labor. The bottom line is that I'm very pleased and intend to continue to use these folks for my automotive needs. OK, so they don't run many specials. That's fine with me because I really don't want to play that bait and switch game and I'm comfortable with the fact that regardless of the repairs I know I'll be treated fairly. Thank you
This is to thank you for the great detective work in finding the elusive cause of the ""check engine"" light in my wife's vehicle. After all your testing you were sure that the engine air intake valves were the culprits, others weren't so sure. Still driving with no check engine light - you were right. Thanks for your persistence.
I had a great experience. It started when i made the appointment. Mr Bermudez asked a lot of questions and actually listened to my responses about what was going on with my car. I had taken my car to several shops and none of them really tried to solve my problem. While the problem hasn't been solved in one visit, the owner has made arrangements with me to monitor my issue to see if we can solve the problem. I am agreeable to this since I don't want to spend a ton of money on repairs that i don't need and the folks at Bermudez's Auto Svc & Repair's are going to help see to that.
Thank you for your excellent work on my Grand Am this past week. You were very thoughtful and patient in explaining to me the problem with the fuel pressure and the repairs needed. GM did not make it an easy job to find the gauge you needed but you persisted and found the problem and fixed it. You make the repairs with the greatest care and high level of professionalism.
