We took my father there for his 89th birthday. The service was great, our server was really nice and accommodating. My husband and I found our prime rib to be exactly to our liking, but my father's steak was obviously too tough..he usually can eat a whole steak but this was just too tough to chew. I was really disappointed for him because he rarely gets out and this was supposed to be pretty special since he isn't able to have steak often anymore. Thus the reason for 3 stars.
Most amazing meal had here, ever! See photo i posted... loved it all. Nice service too!! I wish they'd keep that on the menu, full time
This as close to pats king of steaks in Philly as you are going to find here. Herrs chips with sandwich. Small place busy at lunch. Fast service.
We don't go out much and after this visit we sure will be keeping it that way, the visit from start to finish was very disappointing. Our server disappeared for over long periods and always approached our table with attitude. We got the feeling that overall the staff didn't get along. More expensive then most restaurants like them and food from appetizer to the sides given with our meal was under our expectations...we felt like our home cooking is more enjoyable. To top it all off the waitress assumed the change was her tip which was above 20%. We won't be back to another Longhorn.
I took my hubby there for his birthday, and was so surprised! I have lived in the area my whole life and have seen this location be MANY different restaurants. Michael John's has to be the best. When we walked in we were greeted immediately, and asked if we had a reservation, we didn't but we were still seated right away. We chose the Thursday "Date Night" Special. We each got a salad, homemade mashed potatoes, mixed veggies (broccoli, green beans, and carrots), and a dessert to share. The entrée was a 24oz. steak. The flavors were amazing, and it was probably the best meal I had ever eaten!!!
