Larry Menz Towing Services

My car got a flat 2013 Nissan Altima. I was quoted a 45 min wait time. They arrived in 20 min (great) however, I left to grab a bite to eat after sitting in the car. The guy was there and refused to get the spare out of the trunk even though I'm pregnant. He asked for my insurance card which I didn't have readily available and he spent time chastising me for it. I'm finally like ok, so are you not going to fix it?! He asks for my ID. He changes the tire and I call in to report this man's attitude. Larry himself answers the phone and I tell him his guy has an attitude problem and he says the f%@#ing problem is that people call and are not there. Really??!! Idc, your professionalism is down the drain and no one should be treated or belittled when you're providing a service.

Larry Menz is a racist. Racism and a Tow!

Traveling North on I-57, our car broke down outside Chabanse. Several people (all white) stopped to offer help. We called a local tow company Larry Menz Towing Services. A kind older gentleman full of wit agreed to tow the car (& my husband and I) back to Champaign. At first he told stories of his 44 years of marriage, his 5 children, and 9 grandchildren, his motorcycle road trips, his love for flying his small plane, the 100 year old farmhouse he restored himself, and his 2 acres of land (inherited from his wife's family and has the provenances to prove it was an Indian reservation). Then he turned to the subject of Obamacare. Then he talked about his guns and horses and a simpler time. He engaged my husband in many topics--politics, Sept 11, War in Iraq, Halliburton, Saudi Arabia, third world countries, a fairer tax code, economics, missionaries in Africa, his black neighbor (and good friend) he accused of being a drug dealer, and then it slipped out effortlessly as he supposedly quoted his neighbor: N!gg@rs. I wanted to leap from the truck. I wanted to scream. I wanted this man to know the depths of my anger, but at the moment, he had the power. I was not in a position to "set him straight" since the conversation continued about his black neighbor's lazy son, his time in the military, Air Force--Vietnam, his hard work that has brought him many rewards, and the three people he has refused service to. My husband the cool and calm diplomat handled this situation intelligently and gracefully. All his counter arguments were well articulated. I remained silent the last 15 minutes of the trip. We paid the man $300, thanked him for his help, and said goodbye. I was deflated, but decided to save the tears for later.

Larry Mentz belittled me because i am a woman and provided horrible service. i have never been treated with such disrespect in my life. he is not the person you want to show up when your wife or daughter needs help. on top of it he damaged my vehicle due to his incompetence. please beware!!!
