Overall

J&L has a really nice selection, and I have always enjoyed shopping there.

They are nice and helpful, and very knowledgable. I keep coming back every year, because it has that family business feeling about it, and I enjoy that. I haven't had any plant go bad on me, and my garden is beautiful!

Poor customer service AFTER purchase

Like the other reviewer said, they were nice & friendly when I was making my purchase. However, you see a company's true quality of customer service if a return needs to be made. I have bought many times before from them, but this was the first time I had to return a plant. I bought multiple plants & watered them all. The very next day, one of my plants looked like it was dying. I figured it must have gone into shock because when one of the employees had loaded it into my car, it had broken a branch. And this was the only plant that looked like it was dying. When I went to return it, I was surprised to find they wouldn't. They were short & curt in their reply and spent only about 10 seconds with me. I will not shop there again and won't recommend it to any of my neighbors or friends. VERY disappointed.

Great before the sale, terrible after the sale.

Good but not great. Bought a Christmas tree from them this year. Really beautiful and really affordable but it died quickly. They allowed us to return the tree but only for a store credit. After a good amount of arguing and frustration (talk about killing the Christmas spirit), I was able to get my money back and purchase a tree from another lot.

I also had a similar encounter with them on a product they highly recommended and stood behind. However, when I asked them to stand behind the product after it didn't work, they turned and walked away.

Bottom line is that their return policy leaves much to be desired and they don't stand behind their recommendations and/or guidance.
