I really like my management company, they have always been very nice, we had a squirrel in our attic and they sent someone to set traps, we could hear them getting caught in the traps and he asked if we would call when we heard them and he came right over and freed them outside, I'm so glad they didn't kill the poor things, one was a baby, so cute!, he used cat food in the traps and it worked great, so far I think he got them all, after coming back 4 times! He found where they were getting in and covered the hole, and we have not had any more since.

I had a little bit of a difficult time when I first moved in to the apartment I rented, my tub was clogged and they had to completely tear out the tub and the floor from the basement below to finally fix it, but the guy that was working on it, Bill was very nice and always called before he came, and after 4 days with no shower, its fixed very nicely, they actually credited my account the days of rent that I didn't have use of my shower. So I guess I can't complain

I've been renting from Sunnyside for 6 years and they are always responsive to any issues I've had, we had a large tree come down in our yard and the owner and his son came on a Sunday with his chain saw, cut it up and threw it in his truck. Every time I talk to any of the staff there, they all know me and treat me like an old friend.

Sunnyside is the definition of an unethical company. In general, it is widely known that they take advantage of college students by charging them exorbitant rates and failing to maintain properties as they should. In my current building managed by Sunnyside, they fee us for all sorts of things, like "yard clean-up," even though we are the only one to ever pick the yard up. They are terrible about fixing things, and claim they never got requests for maintenance more often than not. My biggest issue has been with their response to not one, but two squirrels dying in my chimney. Despite my over FORTY PHONE CALLS and dozens of emails to them pleading with them to come remove the dead squirrels, they insisted they had just escaped. Even when I had dozens of flies coming out of the chimney per day for over a month, they did nothing. We practically had to live with our doors open in the winter to let them out. Not until I found maggots on my couch next to my fireplace did they come out the following day to look at it. After destroying the fireplace, the cleaned it poorly, and we continued to have a fly infestation that they did nothing about. After 3 months of this ordeal, and over a month after they tore the fireplace apart, I filed a BBB complaint. Only then did they begin to fix the fireplace. They then claimed that they took so long because we hadn't told them the squirrels were still in there, despite my repetitive phone calls and emails alerting them otherwise. I was constantly told only the company owner could handle the issue, and when he finally returned my phone call after four weeks, and I asked what had taken so long, he actually hung up on me. What a joke of a professional. After four months, my fireplace was fixed; however, that is significantly beyond a reasonable repair time. To top it off, I recently found out from a previous employee that they fired her for sticking up for me during the whole proceeding. You should never give your money to this company.

this is the ABSOLUTE WORST property management company ive EVER seen or worked with. The people there are rude, and very unhelpful. They have exteremly strict rules for tenants, and if you even think of breaking one of them they will fine you and harass you. They have charged me for things that weren't even mine, like the cigarette butts in my shared yard. I don't smoke. They charged me for having a planter box. I would suggest you NEVER ever EVER EVER rent through sunnyside property management. I am appauled by their awful demeanor. I haven't met a more unorganized, haphazard organization in my life, besides the U.S. Postal Service. They are so unhelpful, rude, mean and disrespectful. When you ask why they've charged you, they won't give you a specific answer. The people who come and clean my shared yard have thrown away countless items that were dear to me. They threw away my mint plants, basil plants, a few ceramic pieces I've made, and an amazing hand blown glass elephant that my brother got for me. They threw these things out because they were sitting IN MY YARD because I was USING THEM. I do not have the patience for this company. I would never ever rent from them again. I would rather burn a fiery death than go through this rental company. Comcast is easier to deal with than Sunnyside Property Management.

I am writing this review as hopefully my last dealings with Sunnyside Property Management.

I moved to Boulder with my fiancee to attend business school here at CU, and we were able to find an apartment rather quickly through them. Moving from Boston and being in our early 30's, I was a bit surprised by the lack of courtesy and tact that Sunnyside displayed through the application process, but brushed it off.

The reason for me writing this review is not the absent or poor service that we received from them. We did have a broken door for over six months that they ignored to fix, but we were able to manage. We took in quite a bit of water during the September 2013 floods, and while they took well over a week to attend to us, they did clean the carpets. Though they did not remove them, nor inspect for water damage to the apartment- so chances are there is quite a bit of mold in 2119 Goss Circle W, Unit A.

The reason I am writing this review is because they have attempted to withhold nearly $800 from our $1350 security deposit.

On our lease we agreed to absorb the cost for:

Carpet cleaning (done by Heaven's Best Carpet Cleaning at a cost of $143)

Lock change ($35)

Certified mail cost of deposit being forwarded ($8)

These costs seemed pretty standard to us, and having left the apartment in excellent shape I expected that the remainder would be returned in full and in a prompt manner.

(When we took over the apartment, there had been no prior cleaning, professional or otherwise done, as evident by the food still in the refrigerator.)

Some of the costs that Sunnyside charged back to us include:

7 hours of cleaning at $20 ($140) by Brian Rodriguez (1279 Lombardi St, Erie, CO 80516)

General repairs by D.K.C Home Improvements (PO Box 20051 Boulder, CO 80301) totaling $130.92- which included a labor cost of $15 to replace smoke alarm batteries as well as over $50 worth of repairs from items we listed in our pre-move in form.

$183 from Siri Martinez (no business affiliated with this invoice) for hole speckling, paint matching, and paint touch up "trough out".

Now, when I disputed the nearly $800 they tried to charge us from our deposit, Sunnyside promptly returned portions of this amount (albeit through numerous forms that we had to sign- the last of which now included charges for damages not previously referenced anywhere!). However, there is still over $300 of these absurd charges that they are withholding.

My advice to you, do not make the same mistake myself and the other numerous people who have taken the time to write reviews about Sunnyside Property Management have made. Avoid them at all cost.

I do plan to purse the remaining amount they have withheld, and should I continue to encounter more difficulties with them will update this post.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

THEY DISCRIMINATE! I have a registered companion animal and provided them with a notarized letter they requested- It's a cat and she has done zero damage. They wouldn't renew my lease at my current unit because they are remodeling, which was fine so I wanted to rent the unit next door since they were moving. Sunnyside refused to rent to me and gave me no reason why and I was the PERFECT tenant. After 2 weeks of calling and emails, I got NO response as to why they refused to rent to me. I filed a complaint through the city of Boulder that threatened legal action and an investigation. All of a sudden, they magically decided to renew my lease with no remodel like they said they were planning on doing. They never told me why they originally refused me housing and never told me why they all of a sudden decided to renew to me. It was 100% discrimination because of my companion animal and it is illegal. They know NOTHING about fair housing laws. Barbara Guthrie is the most incompetent property director ever. I don't know how she hasn't gotten sued already with how awful and unprofessional she is. DON'T EVER RENT FROM THEM, THEY DISCRIMINATE!!!
