I'm a fan of local dives, this one though needs some help. I've never been so upset with the service of a bar until this dump. Seedy, shady, and shifty seem to be their M.O. The times I've been there its been a great experience , by that I mean a great disappointment .It's dirty, grimy, and has obnoxious staff. One in particular grinds my gears though. ""Audra"" is an angry, bitter , rude, mouthy , ( adjective after adjective) C you next tuesday. My experience dealing her has most soured any visits future and past. If that is how they will keep business, they will lose my money and any one i brings money.

What a Dive. Went there tonite there was what appeared to be a boy with fake rubber boobs stuffed in his shirt calling himself Audrey working. Either that or it was a Transvestite. He walked around bow legged drinking Becks Beer and shooting off lould dirty mouth to customers behind the bar instead of serving the customers. Talk about a hole in the wall. This one takes the cake. Steer clear when this prize is working.

freedom of speach is a wonderfull thing and this is the land of the free however malisous gossip from once in a while patrons is uncalled for...opinions are greatly appreciated as this allows people to improve on service and this bar has a big history of making sure the customers are happy. there are times for the sake of a full bar that certain people are restrained from causing trouble...i usually find that theses people are the ones that write melisouse posts instead of constructive posts....i have personaly played at this bar and find that 80% of the patrons enjoy the entertainment but you cannot please all the paople all of the time, youre lucky if you please some of the people some of the time....in short this is a bar you have to personally visit and keep an open mind as this is an old town with a world of history behind it and the back stop sports pub is the best place to absorbs the culture in this beautifull place

Then this place is not for you.
Come here from Vegas in your shinny shirt and slick shoes expecting a flirtatious busty bartender and bleach-blonde gold-diggers sitting at the bar? Move along!
This place just might have more character than you can handle.
Drinks are cheap and strong. The beer is COLD. They have sports and air conditioning. ‘nuff said

Hadn't been in there in awhile. Stopped in there for a quick drink with my friend yesterday early day only to find yet another overweight , lazy , lould mouth bartender named Marie. She was rude, nasty and a horrible, horrible bartender. When she wasn't complaining she was spending her time trying to tuck her fat back into her clothes. I don't know what gutter they pulled this one in from.

My buddies and I stopped here on our way back to Vegas from Hoover Dam. Horrible mistake. The bartender ""Keith"" (at least that's what his buddies were screaming at him) was so drunk he fell on the floor and couldn't get up. The ""entertainment"" was an obese redhead singing off key and the crowd was so white trash they were selling pills in the corridor outside the restrooms. Avoid at all cost. The owner must be retarded - or ""Keith"".

The prior reviews are, for the most part, unfortunate and damaging. The Backstop is a neighborhood tavern, a gathering place. I've been a tavern-goer for almost 60 years (20 in the Backstop), and this tavern is the best.
I'm an 1-hour evening patron and the place is always clean, the bartenders polite and they pour a hellofa good drink. The Backstop, Coffee Cup Cafe' and Ace Hardware are the backbone of what's left of Old Town. Sure, there are elements that would like to turn the place into a biker bar, a drug store and Woodstock West, but the tavern has survived.
I've NEVER seen a person forced to go into the tavern. Maybe the owner could get perfumed Wipes for the fatty part of some patron's brains.

This place is unbelievable. The bartenders are the worst. They're so drunk that they just ignore any customer who's not one of their buddies. The place is dirty and smells bad, too. Every time that I've been there, some of the customers are so drunk that they're falling down. God, what a mess!
