After reading the review of Megloomis 10/10/10, we made a reservation for an early Sunday evening requesting a ""private, romantic boot"" and were not disappointed and had a very similar experience to the reviewer. Dave R. was our waiter and could not have been better or more friendly. The politeness and efficiency extended to servers and hostess as well. Nice to be addressed by our last name and not ""guys"". The food- everything was outstanding, served hot and the filet mignon and prime rib was cooked precisely as ordered. Sauces were supplied on the side and delicious. The toppings for the baked potato were also served on the side so one could add just the right amount of butter, sour cream, bacon and cheese. Blue cheese mashed potatoes were very rich, but so tasty. Caesar salad had just the right amount of dressing and the lettuce fresh and crispy. Chef's special soup for the evening was lobster bisque including pieces of lobster and a shrimp on a small crusty in the middle. Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream, sliced pistachio nuts with whipped cream rounded out this super evening. Although we had not mentioned it was our anniversary, we were asked if it was a special occasion and did note it. A candle was added to our dessert and were were send home with a complimentary box of truffles. The ambiance was very pleasant with subdued lighting, wine bottles on display everywhere and and expansive view of the open kitchen from our booth set back in the center at the far end of the restaurant. We look forward to returning to Flemings and hope your experience will be equal to ours.

For a nice meal in a nice restaurant, this is the place. Compared to it's steak house rivals, Flemming's offers a great value and some very nice dishes. Don't expect the quality that you will find at Davios or Grill 23, but the food is pretty darn good and the ambiance is quite nice too.

My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary. We got there about half an hour early, our table was already ready for us but we went to the bar for a few drinks. The bartenders we very friendly, attentive and easy to have a conversation with, YUMMY DRINKS! The inside decor was beautiful, very cozy! We got to our table and our server (Danielle) helped us choose a great bottle of wine (from the amazing wine list). Danielle was very knowledgable about the menu and wine list. Durring dinner the managers, and chef came over to make sure everything was perfect... and it was! This was possiably the best dining experiance we have ever had! Our next trip to boston will definetly include Flemmings.

I took a friend to Fleming's Steakhouse in Boston and it was the worst meal that I have ever had. I realize that I had seafood in a steakhouse, however the shrimp were as hard as rubber bullets. The scampi sauce was too salty. I would recommend that you select another restaurant because I spent almost $200 on the worst meal of my life.
I was told this was the place to go for great food & service. Well my visit did not consist of those elements. The Lobster Tempura had the smell of a "burnt concoction". As well as the same taste. We sent that back to the kitchen, and once the waitress came back she advised us that they were having problems with their fryers. But just when we were receiving our calamari (fried) we did the taste test, and yes it was also burnt. They then substituted with the salad...it was ok. Next is the entree, The Strip Steak, it should have been called the "dry" steak. We decided we had enough, and ordered the cheesecake to go, which ended up being the best of the entire meal. Thanks for Nothing!!!!

We were early for our reservation. The staff set us up and seated us within 20 minutes almost 20 minutes before our reservation. Nice job.
The waiter was great, gave us plenty of attenion, The service was excellent. Thats where it ends.
The room is very dark, maybe great for dates but not for a party of 6 guys. It was difficult to read the menu due to the lack of light.
Started with Wicked Cajun Shrimp. Nothing special here. A hint of heat and spice but basically warm shrimp
Next the Cesar salad
the lettuce was crisp but the flavors were not robust. It was good, not great but good.
The 20 ounce bone in New York strip
I ordered rare , the waiter double checked and explained rare to me. I confirmed the order of rare. I liked the fact the waiter checked.
The steak came out as ordered. it was cooked excellent. Its too bad the meat had no flavor at all.
For 44 dollars it should have been mouth watering, it wasn't!
With the steak I ordered a baked potato, it was huge and opened in a zig zag pattern accompanied with a plate of bacon bits, sour cream, butter and cheddar cheese. It is sad to say this was the high point of the meal.
The meal was so average I decided to skip dessert but did have a double shot espresso. The espresso was done well and had the most flavor of the evening. The done side was it was served in a 12 ounce coffee cup. No where does it look good to serve something half full.
I read the other reviews here and was wondering if we ate in the same restaurant. After I spend 150.00 plus tip and parking and to only recieve an average meal ? I could have had a similar meal at outback for 40.00.
Sorry I would not suggest this restaurant and would not return. When dining out the meal should be better then what I could prepare at home, this was not.
I want to repeat the wait staff and hostess staff were excellent. Due to the average food I can only say 1 star

I found the bar very friendly, the bartender Ricky was extremely welcoming, very personable and offered the best selection from the menu. King Crab leg unbelivible. 2nd , salad great wedge, lots of blue cheese and crispy white green and lots of toppings. The main meal a 16 oz on the bone steak. Incredible cooked to perfection. The greatest satisfation the desert, a hot lava of choc.with home made whipcream the best desert I have ever had. The service was beyond the best Ricky made us feel like were were at home introducing us to each and every sever. When enjoing dinner, look for Ricky at the bar, very experienced and intuned to what you need to order. A great night.

This was our first visit to Fleming's. The weekend before, we tried to make reservations at 6 other Boston steakhouses (Grill 23, Abe and Louie's, etc.), but came up empty handed--a big weekend for graduations, apparently. We were, however, able to get an 8:45 reservation at Fleming's. (Hmmm ... red flag, anyone?)
The food was mostly fine. The shrimp cocktail featured four good-sized jumbo shrimp and a creative cocktail sauce. Our steaks (both petite filets) were cooked as we ordered them. The sides (asparagus and shoestring potatoes) were also good.
Unfortunately, when dining at an upscale restaurant, I expect more of the service. We were greeted by an uncoordinated service team who asked twice whether we preferred tap or bottled water, but delivered neither for some time. When I asked our server to recite the (relatively brief) beer list, she failed to mention the one beer that I had ordered from the bar while we waited. Not a huge deal, I know, but I asked about the beers because I wanted to order something different; she didn't bother to share the complete list. After we placed our food order, we were largely ignored for extended periods of time. After our meals were served, too much time passed before she asked if our beef was cooked properly. (It was, of course, but she didn't know that.) Once we finished eating, we stared at a table full of dirty appetizer and entree plates for at least 20 minutes.
We mentioned to the manager that our service was subpar. He offered us complimentary dessert. We accepted. This exposed our first food criticism of the night: my chocolate mousse cake was still frozen inside. My $10 dessert came directly from the freezer--no doubt from Fleming's Corporate. It is a chain, after all.
Bottom line: The food was fine. But there are many MANY places in Boston with better food. At these prices, I expect great food and great service. Fleming's missed the mark.

Fleming's is expensive but the food is delicious. I had the filet and it was perfectly cooked. The cheesecake was divine and very large. Our waiter was friendly and good at making recommendations. The place was packed the night we were there so it was loud. I don't think I would recommend going there on a first date. The only downside is that the tables are small and all the sides are a la carte; so there is no room if you are in a party of four.

I love all the food here.... The waiter was amazing that he recommended us with the best stuff ever.... Steak, seafood, and everything was good...... The price equals the food... So, it wasn't bad at all!!!!! Should try for sure!!! and I def will come back!!!

This really is a lovely room with gracious seating and excellent service. The chops are good, probably just a hairs dreadth in quality below a Grill 23, Abe and Louie's, Morton's etc. in roughly the same price range. Lots of first-rate wine selections, but the pour we saw was barely 4 ounces (if that) and the house claimed they were 6 ounces, which just wasn't so. Because the average is $10 or more per glass, you need to watch out, this is where they're trying to get you.

I've been to this restaurant twice and i LOVED it the first time i went and just fell in love with it again the 2nd time. The steak is absolutely mouth watering and the service is amazing. Our waiter knew exactly which wint to pair with our food and it was just perfect. All my friends who tried it for the first time also loved it. I keep recommending it to everyone!

I made reservations for this restaurant because it got so many good reviews. I went on a double date with my best friend and her boyfriend, and my boyfriend. We were seated promptly and were given delicious appetizers. The wine list was a bit overwhelming at first, but the waiter was very helpful. We all ordered steaks and I have to say they were incredible! My filet mignon just melted in my mouth and I have never had a bearnaise sauce as good. My friend ordered the mashed potatoes and we ordered asparagus - perfect! The only flaw would be that we were seated at a table only meant for two. Our elbows kept bumping and there didnt seem enough room for all the items we ordered. But the peach cobbler and creme brulee desserts were delectable. A little pricey at the end but completely worth it!

Dining out last night with a large group of people can tend to get tricky when thinking of wine...Flemings ample list of wines by the glass can really be the way to go when dining in large numbers. The food was great, simple steakhouse presentations, great flavors, nice portions. The price is really the driving factor, the quality of meat is right on par with every high-end steakhouse in the city, yet the prices are everyday affordable. Dont be dazzled by the decor as it is upscale chain-like...which flemings is...service, a few kinks, a couple language barriers, yet still not bad.

My girlfriend and I went for restaurant week, but ended up ordering from the regular menu instead.
I will say this. I used to think that there was only so much you could do to a steak to make it taste better. I must have been wrong. I ordered a medium rare 16oz strip steak. It arrived, cooked to the book-definition of ""medium rare"" - perfect (pink and then a warm-red in the center). Each bite literaly melted in my mouth, as if it were a tenderized filet. The taste transcended mere beef. Overall, this may have been the best steak I have eaten (and, although I concider myself adept at grilling, far better than I could ever cook myself).
The only bad thing about our meal was the appetizer we ordered - the calamari. It was just a bit drenched in an somewhat overwhelming sauce, making the breading soggy. I would have put the sauce in the breading before frying the calamari, but that's just me.
Additionally, I warn the weary to be careful about the bread with either champagne-infused robuchon and/or pate that is freely served. While it is fanatastic, it is easy to fill up on. Enjoy with caution.
