I just moved back to South Boston about a year ago and had high expectations of the fish pier since the food used to be so good about 9 months ago my boyfriend's mother took him and I there. Almost everything we ordered they were out of (I love whole fried clams and they were out) the food we got was passable. I ordered a delivery and they had whole clams this time and they were very good so I thought maybe the first time was a fluke. Tonight I ordered a delivery first they just asked me to hold and set down the phone I hung up and called back 10 minutes later, they again said they ran out of whole clams(it was only 4:30pm) so I ordered a fried shrimp plate when it got here the driver had to come back to give change(he didnt have it on him) and the shrimp was good but the fries and onion rings were horribly greasy and just plain awful. Next time I will try Kelly's Landing.
If you love good authentic Italian in a classy and romantic setting Davide is a must. I had one of the best pasta dishes ever . It was handmade pasta with a short rib ragu that was fabulous and better or just as good as the pasta our waiter Eric was very good . He was very attentive but not over the top. Off the main drag in the north end so get good directions because it is a hidden gem.
