WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!DO NOT USE THIS STORE!!!I used this store with the hopes that the other reviews were wrong on google. Boy did I make a mistake. I ordered a part over the phone. No one told me there were no returns. What store has ZERO returns, especially for a part that I have not even picked up yet???? The other shop I ordered online from DOES ACCEPT RETURNS and tells you about it upfront, so use a reputable store instead of this sleazy low life place. The owner tried to ridicule me about expecting them to take a return, when its A PART THAT I HAVE NOT PICKED UP YET!!! Literally it has not even come in yet. He claims they have signs in the store that say no returns, but yet on the phone not a single person mentioned it. I lost over 100 dollars over the deal, so don't be the next sucker that this store gets your money from. RUN FAR AWAY!!!

I had a friend drop my mower off to be fixed because I did not know what was wrong with my mower. I called them the very next day to see what was wrong with it and they told me it was ready, but that the self propell did not work. I enquired on how much it would cost and I was told that it might be 2 things wrong with it. I was then called again the next day that my mower was ready. I went by to pick it up but the sell propel was not fixed. The woman I talked to said that they would call me and let me know how much it would cost. 5 days later and no one had called. So I called and was told that my list was completed which did not include the self propel and that if I wanted that fixed, I should have added it to my list. Then they hung up on me. I called back and asked why they would not fix my self propel and they screamed at me saying that they could not read my mind and some more crazy stuff and hung up on me again. These people are rude, mean, and crazy. I would not recommend for anyone to take anything there to be fixed.
Needed a tune-up on my mower. Took a week and a half because of no parts. Then I get a call to come pick it up. Go over the work I also had the blades changed out which was on the ticket and receipt. They sharpened my old blades. Which it could have been a mistake but if so they clearly don't double check there work. Had to sit and wait a hour for my blades to be changed out. I won't be back!!
They are friendly and competent. They service Cub Cadet and Briggs and Stratton, machines that require a lot of attention. They do not keep many parts in stock, but are very helpful trying to locate them.
They never have parts you need for mowers. I have a cub cadet and that break a lot. Every time I need a part they have to order it and charge me a lot for shipping. Friend of mine needed a new starter on his he took it to them and they had it same day I needed one they told me they don't carry them in stock odd I think you don't let them work on your stuff they have to order it so more less you still pay labor cost
First I have to say I am totally a buy from local businesses. This is a Family store. Old time respect you. How may I help you fine store. I was looking for an epoxy and some other things for I make things for my gardens. I went in and found exactly what I was looking for and also found so many interesting things. Lol I ended up with a big bag of goodies to make all sorts of things. I love the go in and find what your looking for and the service that goes with it. No I cannot praise this store enough and so had to put this on here. Since that visit yes 16 YEARS ago I still go in and see them. Isn't it fun to have someone rather the whole store know you by name and it's like the old Cheers Bar. Thanks for all of the help over the years Rick and for another 30 years or more I hope.
Ladies - If you have a question that you won't get answered in one of the big hardware stores, this is the place to go. There is no stupid question is the answer I hear. These gentlemen have come up with more solutions to my "current" problem or projects. You won't find this kind of service anymore in those big stores where you can't even find someone to ask a question of --no less get an answer to.
If you like the old time hardware store you went to when you were a kid, this is the place to go. You get treated like you are family and the friendly people who work there always have time to share a laugh, talk about your favorite football team, politics, home repair problems, help you with lawn mower or other small equipment problems or order something special for you that you just can't seem to find anywhere else in town. I also bought a complete set of blinds for my home there and got the best deal in town! One time I went there with a problem with my weedeater and they saved me money by telling me I could get a brand new Tanaka trimmer with a free seven year warranty for just a few dollars more than my weedeater that was over ten years old! I also got help last winter when the freeze hit with my plumbing problems that saved me hundreds of dollars by doing the repair myself. That's why I like Barksdale Hardware and will continue to go there. They don't have everything in stock, but they can order it for you lots of time cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot but you also get good help with your repair problems, something I never got at the big box stores. Most of all we like Rick Raney, a funny, but friendly and honest store owner who's been helping folks at his hardware store since it opened in 1977. Go by and see what I mean yourself.
