Kyoto has the best of the best. The filet mignon is amazing, the sushi is great, the service is really good, the chefs are entertaining, and the ambiance is inviting. It's my favorite place for both steak and sushi. I highly recommend the royal dinner for two, which comes with two skewers of vegetables, seafood, and beef as an appetizer, soup and a small salad, fried rice, awesome veggies, generous portions of shrimp, chicken, and filet mignon, and for dessert ice cream with chocolate and coconut. It's seriously delicious and so worth $19.50 per person. I go there and order it for us any time I feel like celebrating, and I've never been disappointed. The sushi is very reasonably priced too... the rolls are 3.99 and up and very tasty. They are a bit more Americanized than some places (read: cream cheese, lots of sauces, etc.) but they have some more traditional things too. If you come in, you might see me there because I love it so much I'm there as often as possible! Also, try to make reservations if you want to go on a weekend. They can get very busy and it's not a huge place. Just writing this is making my mouth water, so I think I'll go tonight!
I have gone to this restaurant at least 4 times over the last two years, and I live in Washington. My sister and I have a "girls weekend" with a few of our friends to bring together those of us in Washington and those in Utah. This restaurant has been a staple since we stumbled- almost literally- into the doors 2 years ago. I do recommend sitting at the bar so that the guys will make custom rolls. The food is great, and we all loved the atmosphere. The price was much less than we were accustomed to paying in Salt Lake City and Seattle.
I've been to Ichiban a few times now and I don't plan on going back. When I go in, (fairly early - usually about 5 on a Friday) the employees are watching TV and very slow and unhelpful. My water glass sat empty for the majority of my visits. The last time I ate there, my the avocado in my roll was COMPLETELY brown, all the way through. I can't believe anyone who can see would serve food like that. The sushi may be cheap, but they have no standards.
I absolutely love the ambiance in this place. The sushi is pretty good, but it's a little overpriced. Sometimes though, on special occasions, I'm willing to make the splurge to sit in all that gorgeousness. Don't think you can skimp on the tip, because the service is excellent too.
I enjoyed the sushi, I am from Seattle, so I know fresh fish! The sushi was exceptional and the service and staff were friendly and great! Definitely recommend if in search for great sushi in Idaho.
Did not have a good experience there.
Awesome grub. Great price.
