Jakes Stone Crab

I tried to use a coupon from restaurant.com and the owner/manager (not sure what he was other than a prick) told me that the coupon did not cover "all you can eat" and that I needed to read the coupon. I ask him to show me where it said that it did not cover "all you can eat" and he could not (because it didn't say it) but still would not honor the coupon. He was very rude and loud. If you read all the reviews I'm not the only one that has had this problem with this guy. What's the common denominator here? The low life would not even tell me his name! I have to give to give this place a star for YP to place this review, So my one star is for suckyness and wish I could give him a negative star. Oh, by the way it's all alacarte, and that makes it too expesive.DON'T EAT AT JAKE'S STONE CRAB IN BOCA RATON,FL !!!!!!!!!!

Jakes is our favorite seafood restaurant in Boca. The wide selection of fresh fish, shellfish, lobster and of course....crab are in a league of their own. The salads, appetizers and side dishes are large enough to share which is what my husband and I did Saturday night. We shared a yummy portabella mushroom stuffed with crabmeat and a half dozen grilled oysters to start. I had large stone crabs which we were told are coming from the Bahamas as they are out of season in Florida. They were amazing...no difference from the local product at all. My husbands swordfish was huge, very fresh and accompanied by a warm salsa of tomato, olive oil, capers and calamata olives. We finished with cappucinos and a generous portion of banana tiramisu which was the dessert special for the night. What a great place with a friendly, helpful staff. Also, we used a Groupon and got $60 off of the entire bill. Priceless.

THIS SNOBBY WEASEL DOESN'T TELL YOU THE RULES UP FRONT BUT WAITS UNTIL THEY RING THE BILL TO INFORM YOU THAT THE DISCOUNT IS NOT APPLICABLE EXCEPT ON FULL REGULAR MENU FULL ENTREES OR OTHER EXCUSES. HE PLAYS BY HIS OWN RULES...BEWARE! IN FAIRNESS THE WAIT STAFF IS PLEASANT AND THE CRABS ARE PRETTY GOOD ALTHOUGH USUALLY TOO SMASHED WITH MANY LITTLE JAGGED PIECES POUNDED IN AND THE MUSTARD SAUCE IS ONLY ABOUT AVERAGE. BE CAREFUL TO GO OVER ALL THE RULES BEFORE YOU GET SCREWED. HAD TWO BAD EXPERIENCES IN A ROW.
