I was looking up their number to schedule our annual snake shot for our dogs and noticing the number of negative reviews wanted to share our experience which has been nothing short of excellent every time.We have been coming here for two years since rushing one of our dogs there after multiple snake bites on his paw. The staff and vet were absolutely amazing - quick to treat, professional but still personal and kept us informed the entire time. They even let my wife lay with him and hold him in the cage while he was getting treatment! They saved our dogs life and we cannot thank them enough!Beyond that we have gone back a few times, and I have never had an issue either calling them on the phone or when there for an appointment. The staff is friendly and engaging and the vet is thorough, knowledgeable and has never rushed an appointment. Nor has she been unwilling to explain something or rude as others have mentioned.I can't explain the other negative reviews, but I have no affiliation with Cohutta Animal Clinic and literally joined YP so I could post this feedback. I feel it is the least I can do repay them for saving our dog.My feedback is an honest review of the very positive experiences we have had with them.
VERY EXPENSIVE. seems like they temporary fix issues. Dog still has issues. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. SAVE YOUR MONEY, SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR. GET YOUR ANIMAL THE CORRECT HELP. Staff is nice though...
First of all I only take my animals here due to it's proximity to my house. Today I had an appointment at 4:00 and arrived at 3:56. I was told it would be another half hour. I asked why no courtesy call was made. The secretary was very catty and said she didn't have to even tell me that they would be late. I'm going to note here these are the most expensive vets in town. I drop several hundred just for routine shots for one dog (and no that does not include flea, tick and heart-worm). My advice look elsewhere the vet is not superior, the prices are and the staff are rude and subpar. Also, this is not an isolated event. I believe I will commit to looking elsewhere for more professional staff as todays rudeness was the last straw.
We just moved from Florida and were blessed to find Dr. Ortley and her amazing staff. She is by far the most knowledgable And caring Vet we have ever used. Her staff are amazing
First, the staff were caring and excellent, but they don't care for my dog, the Vet does. My problems continued over 2 appointments so it wasn't a matter of a the vet just having a bad day. The vet being Karen Oertley. During the appointment when I'd try to stop her (the Vet's) narrative because I needed clarification, I'd indicate, "wait. Before we continue I'd like to understand what you've said and add important missing info." She would ignore me even when I said it multiple times and go on with her instructions, which of course I couldn't follow until I resolved/understood the previous instructions. After 2-3 attempts I'd get so frustrated I did what she did -- I just kept talking over her hoping that would get her attention. But NO, she would turn and simply l leave the room. When she returned 5 - 10 minutes later she didn't ask what it was I so badly wanted to ask, but continued her narrative which had naturally lost me long ago because my questions/insformation about the previous instructions were never answered. She did this "storming out in a tantrum" episode twice the first visit. The second visit after this one, twice I held up my hand and saidsomething like; before we continue lets get back to my dog's) strict diet so I can understand. Twice she ignored me and continued talking about what she wanted to talk about. Which of course I couldn't follow until I understood the basics of my dog's special dietSo I held up my hand and said a third time that I needed to go back to the diet info before continuing. When she ignored me a third time I treated her exactly as she treated me. I kept right on talking over her to get her attention. She threw her previous tantrums and turned abruptly and left the room in the middle of my talking. She didn't return for 10 minutes. And at that point never asked me what it was I needed to know/say.A vet that doesn't listen to the her patient's "person" is as dangerous to that patient as a pediatrician who refuses to listen to the mother of their patient (who knows them better than any and is the one to carry out the doctor's instructions at home). The vet Karen Oertley is unprofessional, horribly rude, refuses to spend time to learn what's going on with their patient, apparently "too busy" to listen to vital information, throws tantrums, but most importantly, this all makes her dangerous to her animal patients.. And all medical personnel will tell you that "ALL" information the family has to give about the patient is vital to proper care and must be listened to with the utmost interest.Upon returning home after this second experience at Cohutta Clinic with Karen Oertley I immediately contacted a new vet and requested she apply for all my dog's records at Cohutta. I will never trust my dog to the inadequate care of Karen Oertley at Cohutta Animal Clinic again.
my baby suddenly became very sick and had to be rushed in for emergency care late one night cohutta was the only place open and even though it was a drive i would take my babies back they were very kind and helpful and included me in the decision making and care of my baby who is alive and well thanks to their care i would highly recommend them especially if you live close by
I have never experienced a friendlier, professional or more compassionate veterinarianoffice. The entire staff is amazing. First they managed to save my little chihuahua which was on deaths door. Then months later when my older dog, Jelly, was terribly ill and had to be put down, they were so sympathetic and treated her and us with such respect. It was a very difficult time but the staff made it more bearable. I love these folks and would never take my pets to any other vet clinic.
