It was an absolute pleasure, she is a true professional. I definitely recommend! Believe me, you won't be disappointed.
OK. So, I see here that I'm not the only one that loves Brian. Not surprising. I have been going to Brian since 2006 and have never had anything ot…
I went to Patrick to get my hair done in September. He gave me a twist up do with some two-strand twists in the back. He is so gentle with the hair …
When I flitted to New York City, I paid a visit to many barbershops and nearly every time oh how dreadful my fade looked. Somehow I walk in this bar…
I possibly got the worst and the most expensive haircut ever from Bart. His services are overpriced and he’s totally arrogant. Bart does not pay attention to what you tell him and does whatever he feels like. He completely screwed up my haircut and I had to go to another barber to fix the mess that Bart created. I have been going to this place for the past five years, but noticed that the last two years the quality of the haircuts and the service has declined noticeably and the prices have increased simultaneously. There are plenty of great barber shops in the area which give great haircuts. Very disappointed with Bart.
Randi, seemed slightly abrupt on the phone at first, but then she became more approachable as the conversation went on. However, I decided to give her a try as I never "wrapped" my locs (which she highly recommends, no wonder, as it costs a whopping $200), and I was fairly new to locing (only had my locs in then about a year). When I arrived I noticed and was slightly apprehensive to find she had her surly girlfriend in the wings upon your entering her establishment. I felt a little like I was being slanted against, before she ever got to see, or know me. I am glad my teenaged sons came with me, one waited in the car and the other escorted me in. Once I felt safe enough I had them both to wait in the car. Randi and I then had our consult which again seemed a bit obnoxious, but I always give person time to show who they really are. Therefore; I saw her every three months for about a year, and over time she showed her character, and it was not one I would aspire to, or recommend associating with. On occasion we talked, and she would indicate some of her troubles (we all vent). (But 'Karma'; if you follow that sort of thing, which I don't, but in this case I couldn't help but say, "hmmmm maybe", being the person you are is attracting pain and difficulties into your life, Randi.) Let's talk about Randi the person: On one of my visits I asked her to allow me to leave a very small but really "cute" advertising box for my Mary Kay business in her shop (which she said she wouldn't mind). However, upon my return for my regularly scheduled appointment she explained that the cleaning lady might have thrown it out?! Lol. The way my 'facial box' looks, and where she had placed it in her shop, this could not have been mistakenly discarded. She threw it out herself, or She told the cleaning lady to do so. So not nice, I would even say mean! Now, let's talk about Randi the loctician: I won't lie when you leave your hair looks okay (nothing to rave about, but I was fairly new to locs at the time); and well, this wrapping thing does takes care of the frizzies. But "wrapping", doesn't deal with caring for the health of your hair. And before you come for each appointment you have to wash your hair?!; that really threw me, I mean isn't that part of the service a loctician is to provide for a client (especially at $200 a pop)?, but as I said I gave her a shot. Randi's seems to be a person who is self-centered, crude, shallow, and even a bit hostile. I have never returned, and never will. I certainly advise against stepping into her "dungeon", much less sitting in her chair. To say her hair care skills are lacking is generous at best. If there was anyway to rate her a (-)5 I would have.Sigh ... what a waste of time and money, I trusted you Randi ... REALLY?! You did nothing for my hair .... NOTHING!If you love your locs and need a good loctician?, it's definitely not Randi, don't do it to yourself. Run ... hide!I wish the best to whomever reads this, love always
Excellent please!I was searching for a blow dry bar and thankfully I came across this one!! It's so cute inside just perfect! I have been to GS four times in two months! I am obsessed! I have tried other blow dry bars in the city but really have fallen in love with GS Blow Dry Bar. I highly recommend Kelly but have had other stylists and always leave very happy. Everyone is fun, friendly, easy to work with and accommodating. I usually bring in a picture and it turns out better then imagined. You CANNOT beat the price and my hair looks greaT and I'm super picky! Perfect straightened and then got a curl at the end gorgeous! and only $35 !!!! Love it and will definitely be coming back!
The charge is unreasonable!! I had chair massage for 30 min, the lady told me is $28.00 but after I added 10 more min they charge me for $42.00. I don't get it, because 45 min only charge $40.00 why 40 min they charge more than 45 min? When I asked the lady, she told me that's the case. No any explanation.
Went into this New Salon to inquire about prices. It took probably about 4 mins for the receptionist to even acknowledge my presence. Apparently, the personal call was more important then a new customer. Finally, I was able to inquire about cut and style price. The look and Tone of response made me feel If You Have To Ask Price You Can't Afford it. If the first person you see and talk too represents salon, well need I go any further. BOTTOM LINE: In my opinion, this salon THINKS they are on PARK AVE, with the prices they are charging. It certainly was a NO BRAINER to NOT GIVE MY BUSINESS TO THIS SALON. I met Joseph at the Ronald McDonald House in NYC where I was recovering from surgery, & he told me to stop by when I felt better to get a haircut that would help me cover my scars. I finally went to book my appointment & mentioned to the lady at the front desk that I met Joseph at RMH. I asked for the price for the haircut & she surprisingly told me that it would be "free or a small charge." So I got my haircut, but I was nervous bc the last time I got a similar haircut, it looked awful. The hairstyle ended up looking nice. Obviously I was happy thanked him tons. Before I left, I asked the front desk once more for the price, & was told it's free. Obviously I was really happy and grateful! Who wouldn't be? Two days later, I called his salon because I wasn't able to get my hair looking like it did when I left his salon, so I thought, why not call to ask for advice? He picked up, & I said I loved the haircut, but would like advice on what he did to style it at the salon bc my hair was being extremely unruly. His reply was rude & condescending, telling me "it's just hair" & that I'm "crossing the line" by asking for advice. He insulted my character (telling me that he was insulted that I was nervous at the salon), and said that he was too generous for doing my hair for free- something that I NEVER asked him to do at all or implied that I wanted. He claims to love his clients, but only if they throw him enough money. His generosity is a facade. I've been to high end salons, and have called those places for advice, product recommendations, etc, and they were all very kind. Joseph was not professional over the phone & acted as if he was above me. He didn't have to do my hair for free. How could I have known that getting a free haircut meant he would treat me as if I were less than him & his other "beloved" clients? His attitude went from kind & professional in person to nasty & condescending over the phone- a shame. He crossed the line.
I was randomly in the area and was able to get an appointment about 10 minutes after I called. But it was a Monday so I can imagine they weren't that busy. My stylist was nice, i kinda felt bad for her since I have sooo much hair, it took her forever to blow dry it. She didn't talk to me at all the entire time, but honestly sometimes I don't mind that because I just want to relax. I chose a pretty simple style and it came out cute. I just wish I could of had it done for an event then I would have gotten a more complicated style. Since I showed up a little early to my appointment, I did end up having to pay for parking (boo!) but at least it's right there & I don't have to risk getting lost! I liked it overall, I probably will be back when I have an event and I have the excuse to come back for a more glamorous style!
I just got the most fabulous haircut from Perry at Cutting Edge Salon. He listened to what I wanted and delivered from start to finish
I've been to this location several times, I love this place. Im quite the regular, I was pleased with how my hair turned out. I love the convenient location in Midtown, and I always leave with fabulous hair. All of the stylist are amazing, so nice and professional. Price is definitely reasonable - you get a wash with a massage and a style of your choice. All in all this is a great experience and I recommend it to everyone. I will be in many more times and look forward to it.Best blow dry and most affordable in town. I love love love coming here & used them for any time I have a big event or night out.
