Salvation Army Star Lake Camp, based in Bloomingdale, N.J., is a Christian camp whose ministry helps children from low-income families attend camps. The camp invites children who struggle with boundaries, community living and self-control. It offers various outdoor activities, such as hiking or rock climbing. They also get to make lanyards in arts and crafts, learn archery, go boating or swimming in a lake, play volleyball, and learn new skills. Night campers can participate in skits, songs, and high-energy activities, including Pirate Night, Carnival, Olympics, Staff Night, and Backwards Day. The camp also has a ball field for athletic events, a tennis court, and two basketball courts.
