I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Townsend Cleaners & will NEVER use them again. After years of being a loyal customer I was treated with great disrespect & had my $500 Hugo Boss dress ruined, which I have worn only 3 times. I dropped it off with a little yellow stain less than 0.5". When picking it up I noticed that the stain was gone, however a large yellow circle appeared instead 2x3" in diameter. They offered to redo it. At final pick up I got my dress back with the same stained circle and a hole. The manager assured me that Marie, the owner, will take care of it and have it fixed; she will compensate me for the damage they did. NOTHING of that had happened. I called and left several messages but never got any response. One day while being put on hold I overheard Marie telling the person who picked up the phone to inform me that she is not in. It made me furious and I threatened to get lawyer involved. As soon as the message was passed on the owner grabbed the phone and started yelling at me with an F language. When I finally got the ability to respond to this insult she said that she thought it was “a crazy family member." Then she told me that she looked at the dress and there is nothing wrong with it. I brought it in stained & she is not a magician to make all the stains disappear. She has worked on it herself and spent the whole week trying to remove it, which I highly doubt is true; dress was not even there for a week. I was told that there is no hole and it is in a wearable condition. The best she can do is to refund my $ for dry-clean, which is something she never does. Today I stopped by to pick up my dress and got the worst attitude from the girls working there. The dress was almost thrown at me with $15 in cash stapled to it in the SAME condition. I asked for the owner but was told that they were instructed not to discuss any matter with me and the owner is not available. I WILL NEVER USE THE DRYCLEANERS AGAIN AND SUGGEST ANYONE NOT TO EITHER.
Well I'm still waiting on my husbands shirt to be ready, I droped it off on friday 8/12/16, i went Saturday and picked up 7 shirts but this one had a stain on it that wasn't there when I dropped it off, they keep saying the owner will call me back, Its still there, the worst thing is the shirt was the one my husband wore when we got married. Im pretty upset.
My family have been loyal customers for a long time. Recently we incurred a problem when I brought curtains in to be cleaned. When I returned to pick them up , they were still in the same condition I brought them in -dirty. Marie began ranting , very angrily and so loudly that it was quite disturbing and unprofessional. How about , apologizing to the customer???! The owner, Marie, assured me she had worked on them herself. Hmm , I showed her the dirt on the bottom along with some dried leaves still stuck to the curtains. I asked for the fee that was paid , to be returned. Instead, she said she would work on them. I picked them back up a second time... The previously white curtains were now yellowy and after I hung them , I noticed they had shrunk a good 8-9". We are very upset that an expensive set of curtains are now ruined.
They do great work, fast & honest. They sewed on my missing pants button for me at no charge. Can't get too much better than that!
great place! low prices, same day service. Love this place. Highly recommended! :)
The staff are always professional and courteous and I never have to wait long. The price is right and they do a nice job.
I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had with Townsend Cleaners. After years of loyal patronage to this establishment we ran into a series of problems. The first was that they lost a brand new Calvin Klein Suit and a belt that belonged to an expensive coat. Next, holes were returned in several of white men's dress shirts. We stopped into the cleaners on 4 different occasions trying to speak to someone about getting this remediated. We also called and left several messages for the woman who owns the cleaners. On our final attempt we asked that she please at least give us a phone call back in the next week. Silence. We will no longer be using the dry cleaners and suggest that you don't either. When a problem occurred they were suddenly nowhere to be seen or heard from. But when our credit card expired a few months back we received multiple phone calls directly from the owner to get that fixed.
The Dry Clean Depot in Bloomfield Hills is absolutely the worst. The pressing is always sloppy. They don't seem to notice obvious stains. There were literally no service. They are cheap, but at a huge hidden cost if one of your garments was destroyed. Awful! I wish more competition in that price range with decent customer service. Bad, bad, bad
