This place should be shut down. It smells like they burn the bodies of the sick dying animals in the back. I purchased my puppy from AK only to nurse him back to health and end up with a crazy vet bill. Thank god I found support in a group of 3000 plus members that have experienced the "normal" business practices of AK. I wouldn't have been able to do it without them because the owner was definitely no help!!!
Probably the worst place you could consider to buy a pet. The conditions of the cages are awful, the dogs and cats are sold sick (and the owner knows they are sick), the groomers harm the animals they are supposed to care for. Even if you go there to just "shop", beware that the germs and infectious matter is probably on your shoes when you leave and will make the pets sick that you have at home. Most pet stores sell their pets with a health guarantee - not this place because they KNOW the pet they are selling you is sick. There is a reason why there are signs all over the store that say "no photos or video" . . . they don't want anyone to have proof of how bad this place is. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
If you enjoy sick animals and employees that don't care this is the perfect place for you! Breaking dog's jaws, clipping and cutting into animals while grooming is just some of the services they perform! Looking to buy an animal but only want it for a few days? You're in luck! Most of the animals are sick and will probably die inside a week! NO return or exchanges! Don't believe me? Here is the first video of my experience from the store! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7LFYPV7rr0
You can also check their back dumpsters for the animals that died during the night!
My twin girls brought a small lizard home from school so we went to animal kingdom to get another one so they each had their own. They gave us all the information we needed to care for our little pets. My daughters are thrilled with the anoles and I'm getting use to them!!! We even joined the cricket club for free.
We got a puppy there in April that came with coccidia and giardia. It is now July and we are STILL treating her for giardia and have spent nearly a grand in medicine. Many other people I know have had similar issues. The place is filthy and the owner obviously doesn't care about animals. You would be better off paying more for a healthy puppy from a breeder than taking a chance at getting a sick one from this awful place. I would NEVER reccomend anyone go there for a pet or supplies. They don't even deserve the 1 star here that it makes you give them. Live and learn I guess...

We purchased Zoe from Animal Kingdom on April 7th 2010. We weren't too keen on getting a dog from a pet store, would rather have adopted from the humane society, but the minute we laid eyes on her we fell in LOVE. All was great until a week after buying her she began to have diarrhea. We took her into the vet and she tested positive for both giardia and coccidia, which Animal Kingdom told us she tested negative for. Both of these parasites take up to 2 weeks from infection to symptoms so we know for a fact she has them before we bought her. Had her to the vet last week and she has finally kicked the coccidia but we are still on round 3 of treatment for the giardia. It has turned out to be VERY expensive treating her for something that should have been treated before we got her or could have been prevented by the store keeping it's environment cleaner. After initially finding out that she had these two parasites we went down to Animal Kingdom to inform them and they were extremely rude and didn't seem concerned at all. Everyone that I have spoken to that has purchased and animal from there has had nothing but bad things to say about them. Everything from giardia to crushed windpipes. I would highly discourage anyone from buying a pet or supplies there. I find it absoultely irresponsible for a business owner to practice the way they do. Hopefully we can get the word out so they go out of business or get shut down.
It is a puppy mill or buys from puppy mills or a puppy broker. NEVER EVER purchase a dog from a store or place where you cannot see the mother and father or any litter mates. If a business/person has multiple pups/dogs for sale all the time, run away as fast as you can.
the store may be packed with stuff your animal will need BUT when we got our puppy there he had coccidia and fleas. i called to let them know and they just about bit my head off and told me it wasnt their concern.
this place is NOT the place to get your little one, but if you do, be sure to take them right away to a vet.
BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD.
