My family has been taking its cars to Auto & Truck Services for over twenty years. Norman Rutland is the most knowledgeable mechanic I've encountered. A&T Services isn't a discount repair shop. But I've seen long-time customers call Norman from Mississippi and ask to pay him to come out to a distant garage to survey another shop's estimate. When my brother-in-law's Mazda SUV was slumping after he'd driven with my sister and their kids from N.O., Norman's mechanics checked it, and Normal drove it with my brother-in-law and father in the car to see how its transmission problems were manifesting. *I* got a good mechanic through a friend to do less expensive swaps on the struts in my Miata. But there were serious transmission problems. My pal and the mechanic conferred: they both knew "specialists" in import car repair in town. They said they knew these guys personally---they were pals. But they wouldn't trust them to know how to finesse a Miata clutch replacement. My friend and my experienced journeyman mechanic said, "Take it to Norman. Pay to get it done right."

The worst. They are sharks. Swim on by. These folks were equal parts pricey, rude and overdue. No help from ownership. The services here are very high and the parts are shamelessly inflated.
If it were possible to give a lower rating, I would. Norman, the owner, after failing to identify the real problem with my car a month ago, hung up the phone on me twice because he didn't like the fact that I questioned his credibility after charging me $600+ and failing to fix the problem I brought the car to originally. When I went to the shop to have my car towed to a reliable shop, I again asked Norman direct questions about his level of service. Instead of being professional, he chose to call the Birmingham Police. Mind you, I never cursed, raised my voice, or did anything of a threatening nature. Excellent customer service, right?I've spent in excess of $5,000 over the last year with this business, and Norman doesn't think he has to answer tough questions about his shop and his work. I'll never do business with them again and I hope you do the same.
Checked into this shop at 10:30 and almost 4 hrs later still not pulled in. Was told second shift would be working on us which is bs since we have been here since 10:30. Very poor customer service would not recommend this place find another shop
