Stay far, far away!!!!! Seems like all they know how to do in this office is argue. We’ve had problems since day one that no one wants to fix. Between a broken heater in January (that the landlord said he lives in a house that 43 degrees so why can’t we), leaking ceiling, broken air conditioning unit TWICE, lack of communication, and unprofessionalism, we gave up and could only get things done by going straight to the homeowner. Employees here are rude, accusatory, and argumentative. Just save yourself the stress and headache and stay away.

I have been a resident at the signal hill apartments for almost two years now and if I could give them a no star rating I would. I have been a great tenant, paying rent on time or early, no issues with other neighbors. The maintenance team seems to like to neglect their tenants. I have had water issues personally with water coming up thru my carpet to the vent in the bathroom leaking. To hearing about water it self leaking thru the walls in other apartments. To an upstairs neighbor being out of town with a leaking toilet that then started leaking in another apartment below them and maintenance taking days to show up and fix their issue. March of 2017 I called about water coming up thru my carpet and took me calling multiple times to “fix” said issue. In the past year I have had multiple sinus infection I now feel I can tie the missing link to mold that was never properly taken care of. Now I have tested positive for mold in both my living room and bedroom. I did an air test kit myself, so I now know and have proof of it. (Can’t see it but can smell it) I assume they’re having issues believing me because I’m unable to see it. I have tried breaking my lease this past Friday on 25 May 2018 and asked them to honor my 30 day notice instead of a 60 day notice due to mold and it seems they have issues honoring that and want me to stay the full 60 days. I came in today may 29 with my mold test kits and am still waiting to hear back from the owner. I am aware there are no laws in the state of Alabama that cover mold but the fact that they are so money hungry that they are willing to put their tenants health at risk for their rent money. I am very displeased with this company. I will never go thru them again.
On February 26th and moved into this apartment and this apartment have a serious foul odor. the odor smells like feces. I've been ignored for two months with two different property managers the owner refused to call and they won't give you his email address. The health department been here girl have a sinus problem but she said she smelled something. Her name is audrell. The Jefferson County Sewer in sanitation department came out I miss Ron Lawson. Ron said that he smelled something he flush my sewer line 4 hours later I didn't smell nothing a week and a half later the odor came back. the people that come here from Red Rock cannot smell anything. Maintenance came twice. One of them stated that they didn't know what Red Rock was going to do about that meaning the odor. Jonathan Hogan said that he sent the owner in email. Got no response from that. A short time later I'll called back to find out Jonathan was replaced with Eric crook . They are property managers. So Redrock manage these aparts. for a private individual. my left eye kept running my left nostril did too. I had a migraine in between the two eyebrows I would scratch so bad because it felt like somebody poured feces all over me. The next day when I would wake up it look like I had broke out into a rash. I was disoriented wake up 2 in the evening some days I had stomach pains and cramps. Sometimes they older was worse then other times. I have been diagnosed with COPD a respiratory problem. This problem has Xceled since I've been living here. I am a one-year breast cancer survivor. it does not matter how many times I tell maintenance about the odor they can't do anything about it.The owner is MIA. Maybe pipes need to be replaced. I'm told by neighbor's that a drug addict use this apartment as a dope Den. I understand from Neighbors that she went several months without water.I am seeking legal asst.talked to ADA.Left a messagee with Cynthia Gould on channel 33/40. The resident Mgr want tell the truth .
They knowingly let me move into an apartment building that has a bedbug infestation. Please stay away!! They have ruined my life and have cause a lot of stress. I’ve had to throw out my bed & belongings so now there’s a strain on my finances. They are taking their time to treat the other units giving the bedbugs time to reinfest my apartment. BEWARE DO NOT MAKE MY SAME MISTAKE
I called after seeing this property online, 1112 24th ave north, birmingham al 35204, and after calling and receiving a full voicemail message from the listing agent at Brik realty, I did research called the main office and Paul called me back. He agreed to meet my business partner the next day. I called to confirm with him. He did not show but sent his "assistant". My partner gave a 10% deposit as requested and gave verbal full price offer, no contingencies, no financing, two weeks to close without inspection. All relayed to his assistant, a short time later Paul sent a text asking what we wanted to do. We reiterated what we previously stated. He said he would send contract in afternoon. He did and I immediately returned it. A few hours went by without response so I called him again. He said he would get it in shortly. I asked him to hurry so we would not lose it. The next day he texted that they took another offer. Odd since we gave full price and made the offer at 11:15 am in the morning, unfortunately Paul did not get the offer in until that night. He said he would get back to me to discuss as we were a backup offer. That was Oct 12, 2017 and I have called and texted but no response. Today is the 25th of October. No idea where he disappeared to. No status on the check I gave nor the property. Either shady or just really bad business etiquette. I would not use or recommend him. Additionally, I asked for additional listing and never received. I would hate to see someone else waste their time with Paul Mielke or Brik Realty so I decided to write this review.

This company is by far the worst company you could every rent from.... Summer of 2015 I lost my apartment due to neighbors being careless. The building was not up to fire code. They were very unhelpful with the entire situation. Granted I had just moved in Not even a month prior. 2016 I moved into a different complex owned by RedRock, (my fault). They rushed my thru the paper work I didn't have to do anything other than sign my name. The lady that had me filling out paper work was aware that I had a puppy.. 9months later I had 3 days to get rid of my dog. I turned in my 30day notice and last rent check. They "lost it". This company is lazy treats customers like crap. I have video footage of this company dumping raw sewage on to the driveway on several different occasions. They do not fix anything. I have had drainage issues out of everything in my apartment. The structure of the building and parking lot is literally sliding down hill. DON'T rent with REDROCK
Our agent was Nan and she was sweet as apple pie; well in that case they all were until we moved in (October 2015). The first week at the property our house was broken into, we also reported a leak under the kitchen sink and bathroom sink, here we are in January 2016 out house was broken into a 2nd time, all we got was apologies but no one has came to fix the leak or the door frame...oh yeah and you cant be 7 days latr with your rent, if there were 7 days holidays in row and they were closed everyone of those 7 days its a your fault worst real estate company ever, if you rent from them record ever phone call and keep all paper work because they will get over on you
WORST COMPANY EVER!!! I don't even know where to begin. We rented a house through them, and thy charged a ridicules amount for the deposit. When we moved in i noticed a lot of issues that needed to be fix in the house, so I put a work order in and 6 months later it finally got fixed or should i say patched. We asked the maintenance guy not so smoke in the house because we had a newborn, but, he did it any way. it also took him almost 3 weeks to replace a light fixture in the living room. I finally got fed up and called the owner of the house and he was way better to deal with thank TMI.on another occasion rent was due on Good Friday, I went that day to pay rent but the office was closed. so, i was like, "OK i'll pay it on Monday since there's no drop box". I went first thing that Monday and they charged me $150 late fee because they were closed the day rent was due so it caused me to be late. when i tried to dispute it the literally called the police on me. needless to say I paid the $150 and went on my way. Now its August and our AC just went out and I put another work order in and called the office to tell them that we have no AC in the house. They didn't even seem to care. all they said was "our maintenance girl will have to look at the work order and well get to you when we can". IT'S ALMOST 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE and the windows in the house don't even open. I swear this is the worst company I have ever dealt with.DO NOT GO WITH TMI FOR ANY THING NOT EVEN TO BUY A HOUSE YOU WILL GET SCREWED BIG TIME!!
terrible service, will never rent from again. charged me $50 to go the .25 miles from their office to my apt door to unlock it.. treat people like a number and not a valued customer.
