Would not even give a star at all if I didn't have to. Just called to see if they accepted out insurance and the lady on the phone was super rude. Said she doesn't check until you are a patient at this facility she is not going to go out of her way to check for anyone. Do not recommend. Will find some else to treat my son

I spoke w/ Dr. Lane 4-5 times total. She was over 30 min. late to 2 of my appointments (not bc she was dealing w/ another client.) At the end of my last session, she STILL didn't know my name or anything about me. When I met w/ Dr. Polek I was unsure of him based on what I walked away w/ vs what my issues were. I called 5 Psychs in the Bham area, & my previous Psych in Auburn- the ones that knew of Psychiatry 280 told me they had heard negative things about Dr. Polek. Medication is a SERIOUS thing & can damage your health & even be fatal if not properly researched. Luckily, I was not harmed. FINALLY when I requested my medical records after how upset I was w/ them- they denied my records 4 times, stating that it was illegal for them to give them to me bc it was a "Psychiatry Clinic". I spoke w/ an attorney who told me what my rights were according to HIPAA & informed them that it was in fact ILLEGAL for them to deny me my records. I DO NOT recommend this clinic to anyone!
That doctor is a jerk. I visited the practice as a new patient, and the receptionist needed my drivers license. Two weeks later, it was a Saturday night and I was leaving for a cruise the next day and looked in my wallet to realize that the receptionist had forgotten to give me my license back. She never gave me a call or anything to tell me that she had it in her possession. Dr. Polek had given me his personal number on his business card for emergency use, so I called him to see if there was any possibility of getting my license before I left the next day or I wouldn't be able to get through customs. Before I could even explain my situation he cut me off, said I was bothering him, said to not call back, and then he hung up on me! I ended up driving to Montgomery just to get a replacement. An hour after I got my new license, the receptionist called me and said she found my original license buried behind a stack of papers BEHIND HER COMPUTER! Will NOT be going back!
Never treated so bad in my life...was told he wasn't going to put. His neck on the line for me...I have had such a traumatic last 4 years of my life and the man didn't even want to talk to me really..very cold hearted and uninviting..I would not waste my money on this poor excuse for a Dr. If. I would even call him that...worst bed side manor I have ever experienced. I didn't know people could talk to you like crap and just take your money..I would love a refund for the maybe 10 minutes I was back there...and I promise I am a nice person with lots of respect for all...just still blows my mind I got treated this way..
My son has been under the care of Dr. Don Paoletti for seven years now. He has absolutely been a God-send...an answer to prayer. He has seen us through the highs and the lows. I have my own issues and have been under the care of many psychiatrists in various settings and Dr. Paolettti is by far the BEST! He is incredibly caring and attentive to both the patient and parent. I knew my son was in good hands at our first visit when Dr. Paoletti addressed my son and talked to him before he acknowledged me. He does this at EVERY visit! This helped my son, who doesn't trust easily, to trust him almost immediately. He truly listens to what we have to say and I never get the feeling that he's checking out mentally or that he's ready to get rid of us. When it comes to course of treatment, including medications, he takes the patient and parent's feelings into consideration when making his decisions, making it feel like it is a collaborative effort. Making appointments is easy, and we never have to wait more than a few minutes when we arrive. He is wonderful about returning important phone calls between visits when necessary. There are not enough words to express the gratitude I have that God sent us to Dr. Paoletti!
We have a heart & soul full of gratitude for Dr.. Walker. My husband had a severe movement disorder. He has zero movement since his DBS was placed in his brain.
