I first used Nilipour rugs to clean and repair my most well-loved antique rug and they did a fantastic job!
I returned a couple of months later and bought two new rugs for my home. The selection was large and varied, and the entire staff was warm and friendly. Soraya was so helpful in finding me the exact right rugs to match my existing decor!
It's a rarity to find such a gem of a family-run business where the owners are there to share their expertise. I will definitely use Nilipour in the future!
I normally use Asia Rug for repairs; they are excellent and reasonable. However I had a runner that had originally been purchased at Nilipour years before, so I went there to hopefully trade that runner (and some oriental rug fragments) for credit and to have another rug repaired. I explained what I wanted and the owner told me she didn't need to hear all of that stuff, that she was a quick thinker and I needed to get to the point. She walked out to my car and exclaimed that my rugs and my car reeked of dog urine and feces! I was mortified!!! Against my better judgement, I still brought one rug in for a repair estimate and another two for trade. I was shown a few runners and then the lady asked me what I hoped to accomplish. I told her I wanted to sell or trade for a credit, to which she responded that my rugs were "trash" and she didn't think Nilipour would be interested in even a small credit, but I could ask Mr. Nilipour myself. She gave me a repair estimate, then she escorted me out the door at closing time, 3:53pm. I was insulted with a smile!
I took my rugs to Asia Rug Company where three gentlemen spent at least 30 minutes working with me to decide the best way to extensively repair two of my rugs - over $1000.00 in repairs. They got my rugs out of my car and I asked if they could smell a horrible odor - they said not at all. I also asked if my rugs had an odor. Two of the gentleman got down on their hands and knees and actually smelled two of my rugs up close. They both said that they didn't smell anything offensive.
I was in Nilipour for about 20 minutes - I was the only customer. I was in Asia Rug for about 30 minutes; three customers came in. It is easy to see why.
Unfortunately, Yelp requires at least one star to post a review; negative stars are not allowed. NEVER AGAIN!!!
I have been in the interior design business and have dealt with oriental rugs for years. I take my own personal rugs to Nilipour to be cleaned because they do such a fabulous job. They are lovely to work with and lightening fast getting my rugs back to me. You won't find a better rug cleaner in Birmingham.
Love working with the Nilipour Family! They have been helpful with helping us select rugs that fit the decor of each room and the entire house has become inviting and warm. Getting our rugs cleaned at their shop was convenient and they look and smell refreshed! Thank you!!! Highly recommended!

I took two machine made rugs here for restoration after a house fire (smoke and water damage). I paid them $250 dollars to clean 1 small and 1 large rug I purchased while in Turkey (paid $1000 new). Although a steep price I figured a business specializing in rugs would be the best place for restoration.
After picking up the ?cleaned? rugs and taking them home, I found them to still be dirty, very dirty. I assumed they were stained and could not be cleaned, but after very minor effort with a towel and water with dishsoap, they both cleaned easily. I returned to Nilipour with photos and explained. I was first told that they would reclean them for another $250. I asked for a partial refund, which they flatly refused.
They explained how they are very gentle as to not damage the rug, but admitted they could have been more aggressive to get out the dirt. They did offer to reclean for free, but refused to pick up or deliver (making me spend another hour to do this). Finally the owner came out, but was very rude. He said my ?rugs were garbage? (machine made), he ?cleans $50,000 rugs? and mine were not worth his time. I showed him the pictures and he said, ?good, you should do the whole rug like that? It was an unbelievable experience.
Fearful that I would spend the time and effort to bring the rugs back only to again pick up uncleaned rugs, I decided to rent a carpet cleaner ($30 with shampoo). I was able to restore them to like new in less than one hour. Being close to Christmas I suppose the $250 was my gift to them.
