The office manager and the front office staff are very rude, unprofessional, and unethical. This is a very undesirable practice because of this. There is always some time of insurance claim issue with this office and they always are incorrect. I was treated so poorly on my last visit to this office I will"NEVER" step foot in there again. That's a promise!
Very disappointed in Dr. Black's assistant and staff! Echoing what Wes S said below. I called 3 weeks ago to setup an appointment due to my blood pressure being high. I was told to leave a message with Dr. Black's assistant which I did. Despite her voice mail greeting asking not to leave multiple messages, I left a second message a week later. Finally, after receiving no calls, I called the receptionist again and told her my experience. She said the office would call back the following week. After again no return call I called again and finally was able to reach Dr. Black's assistant who said that since it had been so long since I had come in as a patient I was now considered 'new' and Dr. Black no longer sees new patients.
Dr. Black's position regarding not seeing new patients is perfectly fine - I can go somewhere else. My issue is that it should not take almost a month and repeated phone calls to finally relay that information.
Your health is too important-if your Dr. is unresponsive pick another.
Hi this is Dr. Clifford (board certified in Family Medicine and trained at Mayo Clinic and Alabama) from Trinity Medical Clinic in Chelsea 678-7779. Just wanted to let Dr. Brewer's patients know that I am happy to see them while he is temporarily out of the office.
I have CVS Caremark Rx by mail. Rarely do Dr. Black's nurses respond to requests until after about the 3rd attempt or if I call them myself. I have auto refill, so I am not checking up on the status of my Rx's since they are automatically refilled every 90 days for the year, but after not receiving my Rx, I decided to check the status only to find out that Inverness Family Medicine had not responded to CVS's calls so it never got filled.
After several years of poor reviews and my own experiences with Rebecca-Rude at the reception desk, it shocks me that she still works there. Can't imagine how tiresome it is to work with the infirm everyday, but if you are not able to do it with a smile and helpful attitude, then time to go!
The doctors are awesome. But don't go here, especially if you have high blood pressure. The office staff is the WORST EVER. They won't call you back and ALWAYS act like you're always inconveniencing them (I just want to schedule a followup). Like an office full of gradeschoolers.

If you get sick Monday between 8:30 and 4:30 and subtract the hour for lunch you may have some luck. If you get sick Friday they only work half a day as I guess the other four are more than they can handle. If you get sick and put in the hospital you are in trouble. They DO NOT do hospital visits but use a hospitalist to manage your care so you meet a stranger at the worst possible time. If you have a sinus infection or a simple flu shot is all you need it works. If you are seriously sick though I would not recommend. They also refer you for the simple things. Would not look at a spot to see if it should be checked for skin cancer. Told to call a dermatologist. That will be $25.00 to hear that. No problems with office staff but it is a private practice which handles very little in either time or care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lichty for about two years and have nothing but positive things to say about the office and Dr, Lichty. I have never seen or heard any of the negative comments occurring at the office. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Lichty is particular to new patients. He is a very good doctor.

I completely disagree with the previous posts! I'm a nurse and have been going to this practice for over a decade. Dr. Brewer is incredibly kind and patient, and has taken incredibly good care of me through the years. When he was booked, I never hesitate to see Dr. Lichty or Dr. Black. They are wonderful physicians and I will continue to use them. I have never had a problem with their phone lines, or their nurses. The nurses ALWAYS get back to me the same business day and I have never waited longer than a few hours to have a prescription filled. I also have never had a problem getting an appointment the very same day. I may have to wait 20 min, for them to fit me in, but it has always been worth the wait.

I have been a patient of Dr. Brewer's for about 10 years. I have always enjoyed talking to Dr. Brewer because he sits down with me and listens. He asks relevant questions and I can tell he cares about me. He takes the time to explain what he thinks is going on with my health and makes sure I understand. I rarely come to the office, so he is doing a good job of helping me stay healthy!
The nurses at the office have always gone above and beyond for me. Sometimes, if my prescription runs out and I forget to make an appointment for a new one, they will go ahead and call in my prescription as long as I promise to make an appointment soon (I always do). I can tell they care about my situation and want to help me.
I read some of the negative comments about the office and I can't relate at all. I have always had pleasant experiences with the staff, nurses, and doctors. The one thing I will agree on is the wait time, but you should always expect a wait time at the doctor. That's just how it is. Overall, I love this office and will keep coming back! I always recommend it to people new in town.
