Overall rating 2. Room hasn't been cleaned in two weeks, asked for things to do myself. Someone came finally, keys wouldn't work when I returned. A huge run around to finally get back in an hour later.
This use to be an OK place to stay for a few nights but it has gone downhill since 2015. I stayed at the one in Inverness, AL for 1 night and it was the filthiest hotel I have ever been in. Roaches were everywhere. Food and garbage were out in plain view with no pretending that it could not be seen. Management in Inverness is the worst. Also, wi fi is on and off with 2 bar service. A lot of people down their luck live in this hotel. Do yourself a huge favor and don't waste time stopping here. Several signs that say "NO REFUNDS". I know this is suppose to be for the Oak Mountain Lodge in Pelham, AL but this review is for the one on Highway 280, Inverness, AL. I couldn't find a place to review the Inverness location so I posted it here.
Housekeeping for this location is horrible. Everyday of the three weeks stay there was a problem with housekeeping maintaining the cleanliness of the room. The bathrooms were not cleaned properly and towels were not replaced each day when needed. Trash was not picked up out of the rooms and beds were not made and fluffed daily. Even when specific instructions are left to clean the tub, floor, sink and toilet were left, it did not get completed. Housekeeping were very inconsiderate of guests sleep as they talked loudly outside of the rooms about personal situations that had nothing to do with there jobs. Mature women speaking loudly and cursing about how someone who in their words should keep their names out of their mouths was more important to them to discuss instead of getting the rooms clean. On numerous days I had to listen to their loud conversations outside of my door. I felt like I was in the ghetto and have spent $25 for my room when I am at the Courtyard Marriott. As a frequent traveler and rewards member, I have experienced the worst housekeeping service in the history of my travels. Housekeeping at this location has given the Courtyard Marriott a bad review and have lost a number of customers due to the lack of service and unprofessional shown at this location. I will make all of my colleagues aware of this location as well as my friends not to spend their stay here for any reason. What makes a good stay for most customers is customer service and professionalism. I will never stay at this location and discourage everyone I know as well as people I don't know to stay away from this location. The fact that this location is a well stayed location of customers with family in the UAB hospital, one would think that hospitality and professionalism would be a priority. Not at this location. Buyer beware. Do not stay here if you want your rooms adequately serviced. On a good note, I did receive great service from Torie and Johnathon at the front desk. They were always helpful and professional.
Great hotel. Free breakfast and dinner.
Manager and staff very racist and unprofessional. Would not recommend staying at this hotel
After spending my last 10 months in Bham, I have to say this is my favorite placr to stay on 280. Better than average breakfast (plus dinner reception M-Th), but it's the people here that differentiate this hotel from the others in this area. Just renovated the entire property so it is now bright & inviting like the rest of the environment.
The room was nice but I had surgery and was hoping for a good night's sleep and people are running up and down the hallways and kids trying to open our door. I've called the front desk three times along with alot of other customers and nothing has been done! This has been going on for HOURS so the customer service sucks I will not be back!
Hot water was a continuous issue....our room didn't have hot water every night, and one day the entire hotel was running cold due to a mechanical issue. There was a concert across the street and people came stumbling in the hotel late at night...because of the way the building is built, allt he sounds traveled up, we were on the 15th floor and were woken up at 1am due to yelling couples. The pool is lovely, it is a pretty hotel - but if you wake up at the slightest noise....this might be a problem here.
Nice! Clean rooms, comfortable beds, great service, and a great breakfast!
