I’ve been calling the office all morning. One of their complexes (Pebble Creek Apartments) keeps turning my water off without warning and not letting me know and this have been going on all weekend. This morning I was in the middle of a shower and all of a sudden the water was off!
I called after seeing this property online, 1112 24th ave north, birmingham al 35204, and after calling and receiving a full voicemail message from the listing agent at Brik realty, I did research called the main office and Paul called me back. He agreed to meet my business partner the next day. I called to confirm with him. He did not show but sent his "assistant". My partner gave a 10% deposit as requested and gave verbal full price offer, no contingencies, no financing, two weeks to close without inspection. All relayed to his assistant, a short time later Paul sent a text asking what we wanted to do. We reiterated what we previously stated. He said he would send contract in afternoon. He did and I immediately returned it. A few hours went by without response so I called him again. He said he would get it in shortly. I asked him to hurry so we would not lose it. The next day he texted that they took another offer. Odd since we gave full price and made the offer at 11:15 am in the morning, unfortunately Paul did not get the offer in until that night. He said he would get back to me to discuss as we were a backup offer. That was Oct 12, 2017 and I have called and texted but no response. Today is the 25th of October. No idea where he disappeared to. No status on the check I gave nor the property. Either shady or just really bad business etiquette. I would not use or recommend him. Additionally, I asked for additional listing and never received. I would hate to see someone else waste their time with Paul Mielke or Brik Realty so I decided to write this review.

This is the worst property management group. The residents have had no correspondence from this company since August if 2016. Repairs to common area have not been made, bills are not being paid, resident accounts for dues paid are not correct and SPMG is doing nothing. The owner and personnel of this company don't return calls, lie and in general just ignore residents. Highly recommend NOT using this company.
RIP OFF ALERT!!!!! They are charging application fees an denying people with no communication. I make 10 times the rent with good rental history but they still denied me? I be they make more by getting two applicants a day to pay for the application then the rent is in the first place which was only 575 a month. DO NOT WAIST your time and effort trying to rent from them. I called them many times and got no return call they just mail you a letter and collect the application fees. RIP OFF!!!!!
This company is by far the worst company you could every rent from.... Summer of 2015 I lost my apartment due to neighbors being careless. The building was not up to fire code. They were very unhelpful with the entire situation. Granted I had just moved in Not even a month prior. 2016 I moved into a different complex owned by RedRock, (my fault). They rushed my thru the paper work I didn't have to do anything other than sign my name. The lady that had me filling out paper work was aware that I had a puppy.. 9months later I had 3 days to get rid of my dog. I turned in my 30day notice and last rent check. They "lost it". This company is lazy treats customers like crap. I have video footage of this company dumping raw sewage on to the driveway on several different occasions. They do not fix anything. I have had drainage issues out of everything in my apartment. The structure of the building and parking lot is literally sliding down hill. DON'T rent with REDROCK
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE TO SOUTHPARK THEY HAVE PEOPLE WHO MOVE IN WITH OTHER PEOPLE CAUSE TROUBLE SHOOTINGS THEM YOUNG GUYS BROKE INTO MY APARTMENT TWICE BROKE INTO MY CAR AND STOLE MY RADIO THE PEOPLE AT THE RENT OFFICE WAS NOT SIMPATHETIC TO WHAT HAPPENED THE RENT OWNERS WERE STEALING MONEY IT WAS TERRIBLE AND CAUSED ME AND MY BOYFRIEND A HOME NOT WE HERE AND THERE UNTIL WE FIND SOMETHING DECENT
I have never in my life had such a nightmare of an experience renting from this agency. The staff is rude, it's impossible to get in touch with anyone, and when you finally do they refuse to do anything about serious problems. I will never again in my life rent from this group.
I live in an apartment managed by JH Berry. My AC is not blowing cold air. I called yesterday around 1:00 pm and reported this problem. No response. I emailed maintenance dept. I got no response. I called back around 4 that afternoon. Answering service again. Still, no response. I called back around 8:30. By this time it's hot in my apartment and my Siberian Husky was not happy. I have called 3 times today. The last time I called the answering service rep. informed me that if the outside temperature was not at least 80 degrees they don't consider it an emergency. WHAT???!!! Why didn't JH Berry respond on Friday when I contacted them during business hours? Why didn't any of the other call center employees inform me that this wasn't considered an emergency service call? I asked the call center guy if he could please call JH Berry and have them call me. He said, "no, and that's their policy." I live in an upstairs unit. It's 80 degrees in my apartment and it's humid!!!
