The Rex is one of the most well known restaurants in Billings. Famous for its steaks, The Rex also offers delicious fresh seafood. Our favorites are the garlic sauteed mushrooms and oysters on the half-shell. Seafood such as halibut, salmon or sea bass grilled on cedar slabs and glazed in citrus or berry, the iceberg salad wedge with blue cheese house dressing, creme brulee and cheesecake with hot coffee. The bar is always loud and bustling and the lounge off the restaurant often has a musician and fireplace going. Reservations are recommended. In the summer the patio has a gas fireplace and is a fun place to meet friends for a drink or glass of wine.

the Rex has terrific food, great service, and a sophisticated ambience. What more can one ask. There's only one other restaurant in Billings that I rate this highly and that's Enzos

The blackened prime rib combined with outdoor dining with great service was a huge plus! Not to mention the best Martini in town!

Been to The Rex a few times and it seems to get better every time I go back. Great food & great service.

We've dined at the Rex many times and have never been disappointed. Great steaks and wonderful seafood! If you like a little spice in your dinner, I recommend you order your steak blackened, very tasty!! I also love the various ways the salmon is prepared!!

Had an outstanding waitress who bent over backwards to make us happy, even our 10-year-old son who wanted a shake (not on menu) but the bar made one anyway. Food was universally outstanding.

As we flew to Billings the woman sitting next to me recommended the Rex for dinner. GREAT steaks and the waitstaff was great. We sat on the patio. The rail yard across the street added to the charm of the place. Highly recommend it!

After wrapping up our convention we wanted to enjoy the evening and spend time with friends. The Rex was our landing spot. We enjoyed a few hours of cocktails, a little bit of food and the fire pit on the patio. Since this was February, it was as one friend put it, "upscale" camping, minus the camp chairs and wood smell. The bar staff were friendly and fun. When we wanted to step outside we stood around and laughed and talked and headed back in for more. A great spot! This summer should be even better! Final note, for the history buffs, yes, Alfred would have loved to be in on our gathering!

Great Food

The rex has a unique atmosphere and is in the heart of downtown Billings. Excellent food selection but on the more pricing side. So plain to spend about $25 per person but its completely worth it, Personal Fav- Shrimp Wontons.
