Called this place at 4:15 to have them pick up a friend at the airport at 4:40. They were 45 minutes late, and the driver didn't know how to get to the destination which was 15 minutes away. He didn't even have a GPS, he had to call in on his CB radio to get directions. They also only take cash, no credit or debit cards. Do not recommend.
Don't even want to give one star. Used them quite a few times in the last year, no issues. Today I called at 2:30pm and asked a price for a trip. Was told $6 each way. It's 2.5 miles. I called back at 4:00 and ordered a taxi for 5:45. Taxi came, driver called in and was told would be $11. I said I was told $6. Driver called in again and the guy said I never asked for the price. So I got out, not paying $11 each way for 2.5 miles. I calljled the office and got the same guy who said I never asked for a price, and it's $9 plus $2 for a set time. I said first of all I wasn't told it was an extra $2 for a set time, but besides that, when I called earlier he told me $6. He said no way I never asked a price EITHER CALL (he DID remember me calling twice). I said that was the only reason I called the first time was for a price. He said he never gave me a price. I said so I'm imagining the entire conversation? He said I guess you are and hung up.
Im giving 5 star's. The despatcher's speak clearly. The driver's are all great as well. I have to take a cab daily just about. Of course there are day's that are busier than other's and i have a lil wait time. Of course people are going to pop on here when they have a lil bad experience. You never hear about the experience's that are good. Kudos for city cab!!
I am giving it one star because I can't give it any less I called for the taxi from Walmart and they said it would be about 20 minutes I waited an hour and I called back and they said the guy was on his way 30 minutes later I called back and asked the guy if the driver got lost because he told me he was on his way to pick me up and this town isn't that big. The dispatcher was very rude and he told me that I could just go to another cab company if I was tired of waiting for them this is the worst taxi company I had ever seen unfortunately there's only two in this town and you're really stuck so your best bet is to avoid getting a taxi and get yourself a rental car for the day
Wow ! Can not believe how right on all the other reviews are. We we called the night before person on phone was polite. We asked for a cab to be here at 2:20 AM to make a plane . Had to make several calls . It is now 3:00 AM and they just NOW show up! Wish I could be that
incompetent at my job!
Absolutely awful. The woman over the phone seemed like a great person, but she told me 20 minutes, and it took them 60 minutes to get to me. I'm trying to catch a flight right now and think I may miss it. I hopped in the cab and he took 3 more minutes just sitting there writing stuff down and talking. We get to driving and I come to find out that they don't take cards! Now I have to leave my bags in the car as collateral, sprint inside the airport, find an ATM, and hope that I catch my flight. Horrible experience.
We took a city cab from our hotel to the mall and then a few hours later took the same trip back to our hotel. The first trip, the dispatcher said it would be tough to get a ride at the time we wanted (we called an hour in advance) but sure enough the cab showed up a few minutes before the time we requested. The return trip was just as timely. Both cabs were clean and their drivers were nice and good drivers. I would use these guys again.
I use to love this service. Sadly, things seem to be declining. When I started using them a year ago the dispatcher was very friendly and even greeted me by name a few times (I used them that often)! She was a very sweet lady and even vouched for me once when I was a few dollars short (I was able to run inside work and get the money I needed). The cab drivers were on time, polite, and made me feel comfortable. Sure, the cars are a little run down, but as long as I get from point A to B I was happy.
HOWEVER, here in the past 5-6 months, the service has been getting worse and worse. The dispatchers that they have now are rude. They are very snappy and seem like it's an inconvenience when you call them...that is, if they bother to answer at all. The cabs have been running later and later passed my pick up time and the drivers are getting more and more.... socially awkward? The past two drivers I've had have made it a point to be pretty creepy while hitting on me. I was so uncomfortable, I was practically up against the door.
The not accepting credit cards has been a drawback but that's not too big of a deal for me. Trying Yellow Cab today to see how it goes.
I called for a taxi to take me from Lockwood to the west end. They told me it would be a 30 minute wait. 45 minutes later they still weren't there, so i called them and they said they thought i was at the west end and that i had given them the wrong address. absolutely not! if they wouldve simply looked up the address i had given them and made a note that i said "LOCKWOOD" to begin with there would be no issue.
so they said they would come to the correct address within 20 minutes.
45 minutes later i call again and ask why its taking so long. the operator tells me that they're busy and i said "well if you wouldve sent the taxi to the correct address in the first place we wouldve have an issue." the operator says its not their fault i gave them the wrong address and i might as well call "yellow" because they were cancelling my taxi, and hung up on me.
VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I've used this taxi service in the past and ive had bad customer service, but never as terrible as this. i will never again throw my money away to a business with such terrible customer service!
Kudos and many thanks to City Cab, specifically Crystal and John, who did us a huge favor! My husband lost his iphone while we were in Billings earlier this week. After getting home to Canada, we used the 'find my phone' feature and realized that it was in a park in Billings that we had never been to. After calling City Cab, Crystal immediately had John head to the park where he found the phone (on some guy that had picked it up and didn't respond to our many calls and texts), got it back and is going to mail it to us. WOW! Please give this wonderful company your business - they deserve it! Thanks from Regina.
