This was our first time placing our girls in daycare and we couldn't have asked for a better experience . Not only was she amazing she worked with me and was great with communication . The facility was clean and organized and she was open with everything. Loved this daycare and would recommend it to anyone that is looking . Thanks for such a great experience !!!!

Very expensive daycare with little in return. I did not see any preschool work being done or crafts the amount of money being paid to this lady I could have had my son in a Montessori school! I had to take my son out of daycare as I could not afford it anymore. I wish I had never enrolled my son.
Rates very high & plan to miss a LOT of work to pick your child up for silly things like heat rash. I was called off of work several times for issues that ended up NOT being issues, but I wasn't allowed to bring my child back for 48 hrs or unless I had a doc's note. Twice I had to take off work for a fever that was 99° and was gone by the time I got home. That was 4 days missed work. Two times they suspected pink eye which she did NOT end up having; another 4 days missed work. The last straw was when they called me and told me she had a horrible rash that looked contagious. It was a heat rash that was gone in hrs. and it wasn't raised or horrible like they described. Another 2 days missed work unless I had a doctor's note. I was not the only one. Some days there were only two children there b/c she sent everyone home. I was paying her to NOT watch my child & I literally couldn't afford it anymore. ALso payed for two daycares for a while since I had to take my child to another RELIABLE daycare. (3-week notice contract)STAY AWAY unless you're rich and have no job.
I have been using Kids Playland USA for some time now and really have never had any issues. In fact, if you would have asked me not long ago - I would say they were the only place in Billings where I felt comfortable dropping my child off. Now, let's fast forward a bit. If you want to take your child here, I highly recommend you call them first or ask when you are there if the "manager", Shelly, is working (you'll know right away which one she is). If so, RUN as fast as you can away from there! For a business who deals with children, she is the rudest, most unprofessional "manager" (and she throws it in your face that she's the "manager" constantly) I have ever dealt with in my life. She belittles customers, employees, and other managers in front of everyone with no care whatsoever. For me, if she is able to yell with the tone of voice that she uses around adults, I shutter to think of how she talks to and treats the children when parents aren't around. In fact, when I questioned why she was talking to a child the way she was, I was told by an employee that it was her own grandchild. Trust me...you can either find out for yourself (but you've been warned), or do the right thing and ask if Shelly is there at all for the day. It's pretty bad for a place that watches your child, when parents and other employees freely let you know what they think of her - she is not a liked person. This business will lose many long time parents because of her (she hasn't been there very long) if the owner doesn't get her in line (good luck getting the owners name/number from her - it won't happen, because she's the "manager"). I have never had any issues with any of the other staff - they have all been great and pleasant to talk to.
I have never written a review about a place or product, but when it comes to my child's well being and yours as well, I felt it was important to let the public know. My family and I, like the last reviewer, had a horrible run in with the manager, Shelly. She makes it very clear that she could care less if she looses a long time loyal customer, she snaps at parents, snaps at employees, and has absolutely no idea what she's doing when it comes to their computer system. If you're in a hurry to get to work, home, or have an appointment, give yourself an extra 45 minutes if she is the one you have to deal with (she's not organized, doesn't know what she's doing, and LOVES to argue). If anyone else is there, it usually isn't an issue. I made several complaints about Shelly to the other managers, but never saw anything change. Maybe they have their hands tied and can't do anything about it, or maybe they don't care - I'm not sure, but they are both excellent with the kids at least (from what I see and hear) and were a pleasure to deal with and seemed like good employees. It seems as if there is a high turn-around, which is kind of alarming because someone new is always watching your child. If I had to deal with such a rude person, such as their manager Shelly every day, I wouldn't last an hour there (and the reason I pulled my child out immediately). For some reason, you aren't allowed to know about the owner to file a complaint. That just shows me that the owner doesn't care about customers either and is not involved with what is going on. I am still digging around and as soon as I find out who the owner is, he/she will be getting an earful from me and I will make sure to do a follow up post here with the contact information. I know of several other parents with complaints as well.
Kid's Playland is the best Drop-In daycare in Billings! I am a new mother with a busy work schedule and very protective of my son. I had taken him to other facilities in town and Kid's Playland is my favorite. I bring him here when I have to work or just need a night out. He is kept in a secure area away from the older children so I know he is safe and not exposed to the germs that kids may carry around. At Kid's Playland, they track his diapers and keep them in a log, so if I have any questions, they can look back and tell me the specifics. I don't have to worry that he won't be fed for played with because there is always someone there. Not only does Kid's Playland take care of my son, but me as well. I was paying the hourly rate until one of the staff members suggested to me the unlimited pass. They showed me the amount of money I would be saving every month. This place will take care of you and your children!
The manager seemed to be professional, knowledgeable, and kind. She showed me around the facility and showed me where my baby would be staying. She assured me that my baby would be staying in the baby area only and that under NO circumstances would any of the older children be allowed in the baby area to keep from spreading germs. She assured me that my baby would be checked in on, fed, and changed. She also told me that they document every time a baby has been changed, put to sleep, and fed and assured me I could request that documentation at any time. My first couple of experience at Kids Playland USA left me wondering if the babies and children there were receiving the care they needed with the ratio of staff to kids. It also left me with a very uneasy feeling about leaving my baby there. Of the handful of times I left my child with Kids Playland USA there was one staff on with at least 20+ children. I tried convincing myself that there was another staff member in the kitchen or back room. The last two times I left my child with Kids Playland USA was for a little under 2 hours. Both times my child had been left in his car seat and his diaper bag was where I left it. His diaper had not been changed nor checked because the little guy was still buckled in his car seat. One time he was sitting in the corner of the baby area and the other he was in the area for the older children unsupervised. After those experiences and no actual proof that my child was being neglected I chose to apply for a job there so I could be with my child and make money. I worked for Kids Playland USA for 1 day for 4 hours right along with their manager, yes MANAGER! I’ll start by saying from 9am to 12:30pm none of the 20-25 kids there were taken to the bathroom and pull up/diapers had not checked or changed. Two babies had come in between 9 am and 12:30pm. The first one was automatically put in a walker and was left to push himself around for the next 3 hours in the older children’s area. The next baby that was brought in was put down on the floor in the baby area. She started crying. I went to pick her up and the manager asked me to put her down because she had just gotten her to the point where she did not need to be held all the time. That baby sat in the baby area alone from about 10am until 12:30pm. She had not been check on or played with. How could she when there was 1 staff there. The second staff that was supposed to be there was late. That entire morning while I was doing paper work and training myself the manager sat on her phone talking and texting while standing behind the counter. She did not interact with any of the children but her own that were there. At about 12-1230 the other manager showed up as well as another employee. The two manager and other employees stood behind the counter. They were out from behind the counter long enough to get lunch prepared. I was the only one to sit with all of the children during lunch time. At this time two more babies had shown up and were left to eat alone and sat in their highchairs for about an hour after they ate. During my 4 hours of employment there were older children in and out of the baby area, not only were the children not checked or changed until one of the employees showed up but there was not documentation. At the end of my shift, the manager came up to me and said there will never be this amount of staff on shift and that I was just going to have to find out what I was comfortable with then she told me that one person is on shift and when you get to a point when you can’t “handle” all of the kids by yourself that you can call a manager and they would come in. I do not recommend Kids Playland USA, they know how to make you feel at ease about leaving your child there but that’s only because the handbook tells employees what they need to say word for word. They do not give your children they quality care they deserve or the care that you pay for.
