We were sooo grateful to get a cabin last minute since all of Big Sur was booked down to San Simeon. We asked for their smallest cabin and got the Little Palm or Palm II room. It was almost half the price of the other rooms and it was fantastic!! The room was cozy with a coffee maker, soft bed and pillows, heater, separate bathroom, huge deck overlooking the ocean!!! down the hill (stair access) there is a market that is well stocked and friendly staff
Arrived March 4th in Big Sur. Camping with friends in tents. The storm on Saturday forced us to pack up and find a hotel. Found Gorda Springs Resort nearby. We arrived wet and freezing at 8pm. John was very helpful renting us a room. We stayed in Cedar South a 2 bedroom shared bath cabin. The cabin was clean and comfortable. On Sunday we had coffee in the cafe and shopped in the store. Thank you again John and the staff at Gorda Springs Lodge in Big Sur.

We stopped at the little cafe attached to the Springs Resort, in order to get some breakfast. The man who served us was cheeky, fun and very friendly! We had a nice breakfast (they were accommodating with some of my fussy requests). Lovely views and free parking. Great place for a quick food stop, with some lovely landscaping and curious art in the gardens.
Big sur was packed because of spring break. I was heading south from Carmel and there seemed to be more people and cars in Big Sur than I had ever seen. So I continued on and came across this little place. There are cabins but I stayed in one of the rooms above the shop. very nice room, no TV but great views of the ocean, great big bathtub, a really sweet spot. Staff of the shop and hotel were very nice if a bit slow with service. Oh, and the wi-fi was very slow too. There is a gas station on site and a restaurant, I was going to have supper there but waited so long to be offed a drink or food I left, bought a sandwich and a couple of beers at the store and was very happy. I recommend.
We stopped here late driving north on the coast. No cell service to check reviews, but we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a fully remodeled cabin called the garden house. Cabin was very clean, plush and comfortable and the expansive views from our bed of the ocean were spectacular!! We ate dinner at the whale watchers cafe and the staff was extremely friendly and food great also! Cost for the room and cafe were a little on the high side but well worth it!!!
