The location is beautiful and the experience is wonderful, as long as you don't have to interact with the innkeepers. The people who run it are incredibly rude for people who make their living by catering to tourists. The male innkeeper was very condescending toward me when it came to breakfast time. Usually breakfast is served at the time the guest requests, but here you were informed it was between 8 and 10 am. Which would have been fine except it wasn’t ready at 8 am and wasn’t actually on the table until 8:40. Actually fruit and muffins were on the table at 8 am but when I attempted to take a muffin the male inn keeper told me to put the muffin back and that breakfast would be ready soon, like I was a child! I could not believe this man was treating a pay customer with such disrespect. So not only was the breakfast late and substandard it made us late for the activities of the day and we missed out on a waterfall entirely because it was impossible to make up the time we lost.

My friends and I took a trip to the big bay light house to have a great time, yes, sir we did! It was very enjoyable and stress free. Thanks to the staff for having the place nice and clean! Thank you for the attentiveness toward us. Thank you and I will come back here soon again.

""I was the only guest staying in the lighthouse. The hosts were friendly and accommodating of my very late arrival as I had spent hours in the Porcupine Mountains which is a LONG drive from the lighthouse.
The breakfast was great also - I recommend people stay here at Big Bay Lighthouse.""

The common areas area extensive and well-maintained, including games, books, a paperback exchange library, and a TV room complete with VCR and DVD player (albeit a very old TV :). We borrowed snowshoes and used directions provided by our hosts to hike to an amazing frozen waterfall on the Yellow Dog river. All in all, this is a great destination to visit!
