Gigi's Vision Hair Salon

I was definitely disappointed in Gigi's personal character and business ethics. I purchased 2 auctioned gift certificates to Gigi's Salon at a benefit in April of 2007. I knew it expired in 6 mths and had planned to take my friend there as a birthday present on Oct 16th. On Oct 6th, I was laid off my job from a company wide mass lay off and the gift certificates were in my desk drawer. After we rec'd our exit packages from HR, we were not allowed to empty out our desks only take our personal belongings (purses). Our desks were to be emptied later by our supervisors with boxes shipped to our homes. To top this off I had family that needed to evacuate their homes in San Diego county (Rancho Bernardo) and I needed to go down there to help them pack up their homes and drive them back to my home in Ventura Cty. I did not recieve my boxes till 2 weeks later and proceeded to find the gift certificate for my friend and I. Unfortunately, we couldn't go to the salon on her b-day since I did not have the certifcates so I planned on going on the 30th. When I found the gift certficates it stated that it expired 6 mths after the date received, which was April 22nd. I just happed to have found the certifcate on Oct 22nd and I immediately called the salon to get a 2 day extension and left a message for Gigi. She did not return my call. I called back the next day on the 23rd and spoke to the receptionist about Gigi not returning my call. Giggi NEVER came to the phone. She spoke to the receptionist who relayed her reply over the phone telling me there is nothing she can do. I was ONLY asking for 2 days of an extention and I did call on the 22nd to see if that was possible. I also told the receptionist about my lay off and how I did not get my boxes back the 20th and found the certficate on the 22nd and saw that it expired. I told them I spent $300 on both certficates and she can't even find it in her heart to give me 2 days!? She put me on hold AGAIN and came back with the reply of no, once again Gigi not coming to the phone, although I could hear her in the background saying no, she can't do it, no. I have very little respect for this woman and her salon. She is a FAR cry from anyone having sympathy and or respect for human feelings, which is unfortunate in our world today. I am getting married in March of 2008 and I was going to go there for hair extensions as well as my bridesmaids. Obviously we will be taking our business elsewhere. I can only hope that one day, when she needs a helping hand, that no one will give her any sympathy either. It is a pity to see that there are crass people in this world
