Josh, Robyn and Amanda are great. The last reviewer seems to have not been at the same bar that I go to weekly. They remember my name, drinks and even take the time to shoot the bs even when it?s busy with those ""rude"" people. Karaoke Sunday nights (right after standup comedy) are a blast and happy hour is till 10 pm on Sundays, which is half off mixed drinks and $4 bottled beers! Find THAT anywhere else in LA. Tuesday nights are ""Pumpkin Pie Night"" with pie being served starting at 10 pm. Live music can be heard the rest of the week as well with happy hour ALWAYS going till at least 8 pm.
I live in Beverly Hills and my only other hope for finding a bar in walking distance is going to one of the many restaurants around here, and there is where the REAL rude service, and $9 coronas are.
The Backstage is great. They just got a brand new remodel and took down the cymbals on the wall and a lot of the rock memorabilia and replaced it with taupe walls and massive black and white pictures of Sid Vicious, Sting and other classic, iconic artists. One can enjoy this while sitting at a candle-lit white linen table and singing along to all your classic rock hits.
Trendy: Not so much that it?s uncomfortable, but there are beautiful people there.
Romantic: It can be with those lovely candle lit meals.
Good Dancing: People get down every night of the week there.
Good Social Scene: Yes! People actually talk to you there!
Good happy hour: YES!

This place just isn't my idea of fun. It's crowded, unbelievably loud, and the waitresses are rude as the prod you to buy more overpriced drinks. The décor is a sort of low-rent Hard Rock rip-off, very uninspired. The room is a narrow U shape, and it's impossible to move around or hear someone even a foot away. I'd say these are the sacrifices of hanging out with the young and the beautiful, but the crowd was neither. Instead, some of the patrons were just downright rude. I really hated this place.

This bar is great for music lovers looking for a good time. When a live band wasn't performing, the owner blasted the stereo and offered free shots to patrons willing to name the band and sing the song. The greeters are friendly and are not velvet rope nazis like they are at so many other LA bars. I definitely recommend this place.
