Since 1927, The Berkeley East Bay Humane Society (BEBHS) has placed over 40,000 homeless animals. Based in Berkeley, Calif., it is a private nonprofit organization that mainly focuses on placing homeless animals with caretakers; to develop healthy relationships between pets and people through education, training and counseling; and to promote the humane treatment of all animals. The veterinary hospital offers a spay/neuter clinic that provides surgery to its community. The Berkeley East Bay Humane Society works in collaboration with Berkeley Animal Care Services.
