Times Have Changed

Last year I called the Appliance Doctor after having read the touching story of the five-year-old son who "named" the business. My experience was pleasant and fair. Recently, I had the occassion to call on the "doctor" once more. The Technician was two hours late and never called to let me know. When he arrived, he confirmed my diagnosis of the problem and quoted approximately $300. to repair. I was surprised with the estimate and curiously called the business phone to simply verify the figure and breakdown the labor/part numbers. I spoke with a man who explained he had been in the business for 35 years, but did not know the cost of the part. After a few more questions, he finally did tell me the part price, but proceeded to tell me how difficult it is to own a business and his overhead costs. Rather quickly, his professionalism went right out the window and he was down right insulting, as he told me "I did not ask you to call me." I remained calm and polite, but to be honest, I wanted to explode. Even though the company was paid $75 to spend five minutes confirming what I had explained over the phone, but could not get a ball park figure for, I will eat that money and take my business elsewhere - prinicipal. If you're looking for a rude, ignorant, and insulting customer service behavior - then this is your company! I wish half a star was an option!
