I have not rented with this property management but dealt with them with our move out procedure. I went from renting with a private landlord to Austin property. Any of the interactions I had with this company were handled very poorly and unprofessionally. They stopped over our house without any notice -no phone call or e-mail, to view the property we were still living in. By Oregon law you are required to give a 24 hour notice- we received nothing. They not only did this once but twice and even had the gentlemen that was renting after us stop over for a walk through. We had no instruction on the closing procedure even after I had e-mailed and called them. I received zero communication from them and finally had to stop into their office. I arrived with my boyfriend and we were barely greeted from a woman in the back office. She was busy on the phone and said, "I'll be right with you." Fine. I understand you're busy. 15 minutes later she is still on the phone taking and giving phone calls and walking through the office, printing paperwork, where we are sitting, waiting patiently to ask a question that would take less than 5 minutes to answer. Heather was polite when we finally talked with her however, any communication I had with Stephanie was extremely unprofessional. She became very hostile and rude when I asked her questions regarding our deposit refund, because they charged me incorrectly. She directed me to deal with my old roommates- as a property management this is your responsibility. I would rent with caution from this company, and I personally will NEVER rent from them.



worst company in bend

I rented with them on a 6 month lease and would never rent from them again. By far the worst property management in bend oregon. They are rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Unless your absolutely desperate do not rent from them.

I rented from Austin for 1 year, and over all it was a good experience. They were usually pretty quick to respond to any issues and were always nice when I spoke to them. Upon move out there were a little picky (kept part of my deposit for cleaning because the lip of the dishwasher was not wiped down, and there was a dead spider on the wall) but for the most part were fair. I would recomend them in the future. They also worked with us on our deposits.

House at 61136 finchwood dr. bend oregon

i have been renting from Austin Propeties for the last 3 years and have had no problems with them as of yet. What I have had problems with is the owners of the previous rental that we justed moved from off of Finchwood bend oregon. Stephanie has been very helpful at getting things fixed on the home, but her hands have been tied several times when it comes to getting things fixed when the owners refuse to do it. I moved into a home that had been a previous growers home and it was not disclosed to me at first. She worked with me to get repairs done, but owners would always say"" no"" to repairs. I had a huge electrical issue in the home and lost a lot of valueable things do to the wiring of the home.. the owner would only authorize for 19 plugs to be fixed and no more on a 2 story house. I put up with dog smell from previous renter and damage from the dogs with promise to have carpet fixed and in 2 years owner refused to fix. I was unable to use the garage to it's fullest because the spring broke to the garage door which the owner's refused to repair. There was animal feces behind the appliances that supposedly the owners cleaned and in some cupboards which I cleaned myself to make it liveable. The owners charged me double deposit because of previous renters damage and had no concern to fix their home for their new renters. I did a lot of physical labor with yardwork for when I moved in I had to remove over 10 truckloads of debrie the owners stated they removed. I put in a yard for them so i could enjoy the outdoors and not have so much dust in the home. I started having more electrical issues with the home and the straw that broke my back was the phone line had issues and needed to be replace from the house to the pole... they refused again. It seems that all the owner wanted was money and that was it. We placed an awning over the deck out back to protect the deck from the elements and also from the water and snow coming into the house and now they say we damaged stuff on the deck. I was protecting their investment the best I could and it seems that all they want to do is keep your money and charge you for more. The home has multiple issues other than electric. It has massive water damage in the upstairs and dry rot in which they need to take care of, but will they.. my guess no... I am in a new home and love it and have been well taken care of by Austin Propety team. I feel that I will probably have to go to court over getting my security back from the owners, but what they didn't count on was I take pictures of the home and property when I move in and move out.. As they say pictures say 1000 words.. thanks for helping me with my rental needs.. I feel sometimes that you need to really interview the homeowners prior to taking them on with your company.. You have done well by me with our new landlords.. thank you



I moved from my townhouse mana...

I moved from my townhouse managed by Austin Property Management in December of 2011. I am STILL waiting on a refund of my deposit. They charged me for repainting a bad paint job the PREVIOUS tenant did. Both Stephanie and Heather KNEW of this when I rented from them. We spoke of it in person when I signed the rental paperwork. I called today and the excuse is, "Oh, Stephanie and I were on vacation when we last spoke. We'll get that out today." I'm guessing they mean my refund. I paid my rent ON TIME EVERY TIME. I expect and deserve better treatment than this. If you have other options on rentals, I'd bypass this place. It's run by 3 people who apparently have no memory or commitment to good customer service.




Austin Properties has left my college student and her roommate with repairs that are safety issues, and energy loss, left undone. Windows don't lock or some wont open without a hefty maintenance man to do it. Large gap in window has let heat out.

The girls have tried to getting the repairs handled on their own with Austin, They always stall them and intimidate them. My girls have always paid their rent on time.

Finally mom (co-signer) has to step in. This has gone one for several months.

Keep looking...Do Not trust your home in their hands!!

We had a very poor experience with their renters and the damage to our home was horrible! Austin did nothing to assist us through the legal matters...except stand up fo the renters! Do not trust your home if you care about it with this inexperienced, disorganized, and low quality company.

deposit never refunded/property owner bankrupt

I gave Austin Property Management my deposit for $700. When the owner of the property went bankrupt I never got one penny of it back. I contacted Austin and they were no help at all. This was a real financial hardship because I am a full time student with limited income.

We are a third party vendor to tennants and we did have some contact with them. Heather and Jennifer seem to ""forget"" dont remember or pass blame. I would be concerned if you are a homeowner looking for a mgr.

Never again.

When I moved I paid their professional cleaning person 20 dollars an hour to clean my apartment. They later told me they were keeping part of my deposit because the day their employee cleaned my apartment she had a headache and did not get the bathroom clean enough so they sent a different employee to re-clean the bathroom and deducted the bill from my deposit even though I had just paid their employee to clean the entire apartment including the bathroom.

Not fair, not honest, not good business.
