Belton Fire Department, organized in 1913 and located in Belton, Mo., employs a staff of more than 25 individuals. In addition to general shift duties, such as vehicle and equipment checks, each shift is required to perform duties related to other department functions. The duties include prefire planning, inventory control, documentation and special tasks, such as pump testing, building and grounds maintenance, and fire hose and hydrant testing. The personnel also conduct training, and perform public education and community service activities. Belton Emergency Services consists of various divisions that include administration, fire prevention, training and operation. The fire department s activities include fire suppression training, emergency medical services, fire prevention activities and public education.
