Don't trust them. They are fake and manipulative. They reference Jesus in their company name, but there is nothing saintly about how they treat their tenants. Our house was in terrible shape when we moved in, big holes in the wall, weird stains, wood floors that give you splinters, and the house was white but covered in filth. "We're the dirty house on the corner" we would say. But it was cheap and in a good location. It wasn't until we started getting harassing emails about our lawn needing mowed that we started to realize that their quality of professionalism is as cheap as the rent. We mowed our lawn every few weeks but they kept charging us as if they had to pay someone for lawn service. When we moved out we cleaned the house and garage way better than it was before we moved in. They charged us for 12 hours of 'cleaning', batteries, carpet cleaning (there was one room with carpet) and other random fees I've never experienced before. We made sure all batteries and lights worked before we left, and We scrubbed that housed. I called them and they were extremely rude, told me they couldn't do a walk through with us because someone else had moved in already. And then hung up on me. Very Christ like. I went over to the house, it was empty and all the windows were open. I peaked in and the house had definitely not had 12 hours of anything done to it since we left nor was anyone living there yet.
I have lived in a rented condo unit for the last two years managed by Access. The staff has been wonderful! They have always been very professional and very responsive to any of my inquiries or needs.Top notch!
At first, I tried to give Apex the benefit of the doubt. Now, I have completely changed my mind.I received my security deposit back today, which was originally $1,050. My roommate and I deep cleaned the apartment prior to vacating (allow me to preface this by saying I received about $450 on a $725 deposit for my last tenancy with them, and I didn't clean at all when I left). We received $200 back. Yes, $200. Apex states that it cost $350 to patch tack holes in the wall, $240 for eight hours of cleaning, and $175 for carpet cleaning. The second two listed above MIGHT be justifiable, but $350 for patching tack holes throughout our apartment is nothing short of absurd. Stay far, far away from this corrupted company, unless you want to get charged ridiculously exorbitant amounts at move-out.
I couldn't even schedule an apartment viewing with Apex due to the incompetency of their receptionist. She kept making excuses instead of apologizing even though the issues were her fault (forgot to post notice, screwed up her calendars, etc.) and when I tried to call her on making us reschedule 3 times she tried to tell me she hadn't. Even after I read bad reviews I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, but no, they were just as terrible as everyone has said. Don't bother even calling.
The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with!! 2 weeks of going back and forth I was told the property was available and finally got a viewing and told there were no pending applications. 5 minutes after the viewing I go to their office with a check for the application fee and a cashiers check for the security deposit just to be told that the property was taken and they never should have shown it to me. Hours missed from work, time at the bank, a fee paid for the cashiers check, wasted gas, and mileage!! I would NEVER recommend Bayview to anyone!!
This business deserves a star rating of zero but I was required to give at least one. They are a bunch of unprofessional liars. Their security deposits are outrageous amounts and should be worded as "non-refundable" because they send you a list of fictitious charges you incurred when you move out as an explanation as to why you will not be getting your refund. They lied from the very beginning about what was included with my deposit so I guess I should have known better. They don't return phone calls or emails in a timely matter. They get rude when you disagree or question something. The screens were all ripped on the rental we moved into, so we asked to have them replaced. They had someone come out to collect them but he forgot to return them & didn't bother to fix them all. I will never do business with them again & I certainly would not recommend them to anyone.
If you're a college student looking for an apartment in Bellingham I highly suggest you look elsewhere. The landlord is not very understanding and staff can be a pain to work with as stated elsewhere. Not to mention many of the units have outdated appliances which are in constant need of repair and who knows you may even be knocked some random contractual fee if your lucky. My main beef with Apex is there seemingly shady means of finding ways to charge tenants. Recently a friend visited with his extremely well cared for and friendly boxer. As a tenant I was perfectly aware animals were not allowed to live on the premises of the apartment however, the landlord himself was standing in the parking lot and said not a word as my friend decided to let his dog come up for a second instead of sitting in the car so we could eat quick. This subsequent 3-4 minute visit turns into a 300$ fine which as a college student is back breaking. The landlord did not even sympathize with the fact that it was a friend visiting or the fact that he watched the dog climb three flights of stairs before entering my apartment so he could knock and issue the fine. With prior property management companies i've worked with they've shown legitimate people skills and actually will want to work with you. Keep looking you've been warned
Beware of these crooks!! I had a whole cleaning crew of people come into the place I rented as I moved out and I left the place cleaner than when I moved in...They made up all kind of things racking up to over 720.00!! I heard terrible things about this property management, but I'm the kind of person who likes to have faith in people.. I was only in the apartment 9 months..I even tried helping them find a person to move into the place to keep the flow of business... I wish now I really had not shared the management was great.. I'm terribly hurt that even a single mother of 2 children has to go through this... I cleaned that place spotless, but that's how management works when you have bad owners.. I only know because I too worked as an assistant manager for a complex.. SAD SAD SAD:-( I was so appreciative of getting into the place. I'm disgusted with their business and will be sure to let all know of it... Everyone was right. They were slow to fix issues with the place..When I moved into the place, I had to take hair out of the bathroom tub that God only knows how long was there, I had to clean the kitchen, under the stove and behind the fridge because there was so much dirt and build up, you could see it just standing there, and the stove would smoke like a chimney when I turned it on...BE VERY AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!! They seriously are the worst property management I have dealt with. If you choose to rent from them, just be sure to take several pictures of the place before and after like I did... I'm not sure at this point if they're worth my time, but I do know that I left that place nicer than when I rented it and I don't owe them a cent.. TAKE THE MONEY, BAYVIEW. Shame on you for placing people under so much stress. I can see doing things like this to people who really do harm a unit but not a person or anyone who worked so hard to show you guys my children and I appreciated your getting us into the apartment. I'm deeply saddened and you should be ashamed.
shame on you bayview! i knew when i moved into the house, yard unmowed, clothes in the dryer, and walls/counters unscrubbed that your business practices were subpar. the property managers are unpolished and completely unaware that renters are their customers. i've repeatedly asked them to contact us before they send someone out to the house...yesterday THREE different service people showed up unnanounced. when i confronted the property manager she asked "what do you want me to do about it?"we rent because we relocated from out of state and want to get a feel for the area before we buy. bayview property management has treated us as second class citizens since the beginning. these slum lords allowed my family of 6 to move into a house with a septic tank built for two; we were well into november before we finally got heat. i could go on and on, but you get my drift.please, don't give these unscrupulous people your hard earned money.
I had an issue with rent but Apex took their time to look into it for me and really worked to get it figured out to both our satisfactions. I like my apartment a lot and I appreciate their efforts to make me feel good about my choice to go with Apex.
