"Where you can get your INK FIX"
DONT ASK YOUR FRIENDS WHERE TO GO,
MAKE YOUR CHOICE BY DOING THESE FEW THINGS:
1. Look around at all the shops.
2. Look at everyones portfolio. Find out if the artists portfolio you like is there and talk to them. You need to be sure that you can sit for hours with that person, can you see yourself conversing with them?
3. Make sure their line work is nice and crisp. You dont want any fogginess/blurriness around the lines.
4. Is their color in solid? Is it Missing areas? Make sure that there are smooth blends from one color to another?
5. If you are looking at black and grey tattoos make sure it looks 3D. Are there multiple shades of blacks and grey? Check to see if they go the extra mile and do white highlights. Also are the white highlights where they belong?
6. Look at their floor lamps (lights they use to tattoo with). If they are dirty on the floor base u can bet they dont clean their shop very well eitherWalk out. This is one of the easier ways to check the cleanliness of a shop. It is very important to Only get tattooed in a CLEAN shop!
You should consider all of this when you are looking to get a new tattoo. They are permanent and Everyone wants good work! And to have a clean shop to get it done at.
Best of luck guys and we hope to see you soon!

I got my first tattoo here yesterday and had a great experience. By far the only negative aspect in my mind was the location, as it is in a private suite on the main strip of town which seemed a little off to me. Don't change your mind because the location is a little sketchy, though! Before my appointment, I had sent the artist several images and asked him to create a tattoo design from them. He did an AMAZING job drawing up a design that suited my needs, and I didn't need to change a thing before he actually started the tattoo. I sat in the chair for four hours, and had a great time. Tone and his wife Ashley are super personable and friendly. Personally, I thought they were a great choice as they were both super outgoing and it was both entertaining and refreshing to be worked on by such down-to-earth artists. Already I have received many compliments regarding the design and quality of my new tattoo, with one person even referencing that the artist I went to seemed to be more talented than the artists featured in the show "L.A. Ink!" All in all it was a great experience. I would recommend Ink Fix for anyone getting anything from their first tattoo to another piece to add to their collection. Thanks, Ink Fix!
Ya, the location may seem a little bit weird to people that are used to on street environments where people come and go. We specifically chose a location that provided a private studio atmosphere so that we could have more one-on-one time with each one of our customers with very few interruptions. We do feel our current location is a bit small and we are currently looking for a new location, but we still want the private studio feel so that we may give each one of our customers our utmost attention! Thank you for the review! We greatly appreciate them. We strive to satisfy each and every one of our customers!!
I had a great experience with Tone. The atmosphere is relaxed, and out of two other places I have gotten tattoos (including one place in Seattle) Ink Fix is the best I have been to. The quality of my tattoo is gorgeous, and the techniques he uses are great! I did not feel like my skin was burning or being ripped off (which is what I experienced at another tattoo shop previously), and I did not feel like he was going too deep with the needle. I would recommend Ink Fix to anyone!
Tone is an excellent tattooist and piercer! I have gotten all 6 piercings and both my tattoos from him. wouldn't think about going to anyone else! He's very clean, very professional, and very fun!(: he makes your experience super easy. I would choose him over anyone.
Tone is the best tattoo artist in the area hands down! Super professional, easy to work with, and great conversation. A tattoo artist of his calibre and talent is hard to find. Don't go anywhere else! If you want a great tattoo and a great experience, go to Tone. He has the skill, passion, and the years and years of experience that you are looking for. Unlike most tattoo shops around Hard Times was very clean and comfortable. I really liked how meticulous Tone was about being sterile. I cant wait to go back for my next tat!
What a remarkable tattoo shop! Tone made it easy to make appointments, had a good sense of humor, and had a nice, clean shop. This was my first tattoo, and at first I was really nervous, but Tone comforted me and calmed me down the best he could. Tone went above and beyond my request as well. Instead of just tattooing the chinese kanji symbol (like I originally had planned), he free handed cherry blossoms around it with ease and excellence. Tone also was very clear with the way he advised me to take care of it. My tattoo looks more amazing than I imagined it would, and I will always love it. I thank Tone for making my experience such a good one. Hard times is the only tattoo shop I will ever go to and I would tell anyone to dont bother wasting their time at any other tattoo shop, as this one is by far the best!
By far the best tattoo I have ever gotten!! I had my 4th done here (my first 3 done in Great Falls where I live), and this was the best service I have ever received. Tone (the owner) took us (my sis and I) on short notice, came in early to accommodate us, and took the most time and care while doing his work. Everyone I've been to in GF has rushed through the tat just trying to get it done, and the results are far better when time is taken with care. He also actually talked to us, and the conversation was very entertaining (but not for the prude). I already have my next tat planned, and I will travel to Bozeman to have him do it, I won't go to anyone in Great Falls again now that I know what real service is.
First of all.. i'd like to say that Tone couldn't keep his hands off me!... oh wait, I was getting a tattoo, my bad.... and the topic of discussion was horrible!... oh, yeah its because I read a sticker that was on the wall and said it to him, my bad.... HA, but mainly what i have to say is, the artist was great, completely professional, and very easy going and made me as confortable as could be... I came to him with an idea, and he drew up exactly what I had in mind. I LOVE my tattoo, and if I ever get another, this is the place I'll be going. The atmosphere was great, the work was amazing, and i left 100% satisfied! If anyone says otherwise, then they're out of their minds! If this is your first time getting a tattoo, or your hundredth time, this is the place to go.
that is funny... thanks it was a pleasure tattooing you. great sense of humor
All this "COMMENT" says is "I"M JEALOUS" whether it's because you are an artist that is not so great, or you are a very jealous female saying Tone didn't give me the time of day!!! You may want to "TRY" to ruin one's business this way, but with all the people who know Tone, who have come across Tone and his work they know better. There are plenty of us walking around "PROUD", so PLEASE this person has lost there mind!!! Jealous people can do crazy things!!!
I am covered from head to toe with tattoos. I have had work done by several different artists at all skill levels. You claim that the tattoo was done to deep.. and you know this how?? Until you have the tattoo gun in your hand and know how to gauge it i would not self diagnose. Tony is a professional and would have never let it get that far. I trust him 100%. Sounds to me like you should avoid ink all together. Three reasons being; is that your in a tattoo shop. No one can work on you with full body armor on, as they are working on bare skin! If you picked an area that you did not want touched or exposed than that is just straight, your bad. Second, you know nothing of a tattoo job going wrong. I say this because I had it happen I had to go the hospital get the skin scraped by a wire bursh, burn soap down my entire arm,and was on a pump of anitibiotics. When you say your skin was falling off you are exagerating or you should have gotten medical attention. Also I question your judgement by saying it was such a bad job yet you returned to the same shop and artist. If ya don't like the artist why did you run right back there? Most important is the after care in how well your skin will heal and whether scabs or peels. I am not licensed but like I said I know a thing (or 42) if you keep it too wet the site will get gooy and can wipe off followed or scab that if pulled off will usually take the ink away. That the clients bad. I am not into mud slinging but you called a friend a wonderful artist a pervert so I'll give you a piece of advise princess stay outta a tattoo shop. You're cmpalining back fired as we all know flesh factory is a good shop. You should not put someone a blast on the internet that is running a very well known business throughout several states. I say stick with a gossip columns. I have some pics of his work posted on facebook. I hope my friends take a look at his shop and the great work that comes outta there. At least he posts pics of his tatts. You are just complaining and moaning. Tony does amazing work I cant wait until I can make it to the shop and then I'll post my pics and your complaints will be far from valid.
I first got tattooed by Tone in 2007. He spent a month perfecting the sketch and stayed late to work on my tattoo because of my busy schedual. Since than I have moved to New Mexico and Florida but I always come back to the Flesh Factory. Last year in September I flew in for three days for business. At the last minute I dropped by to get a tattoo on my wrist. Yet again the crew at Flesh Factory work around my schedual. Growing up in Bozeman I have seen a lot of work done by other local artist and have been with many people while they have gotten their tattoos at other shops in town. None compare to the personality and and atmoshpere of Flesh Factory. As a MT native and tattoo enthusiest I would recommend Flesh Factory to any one who is serious about a great tatto.
I have been getting all of my art done at the flesh factory since 2007. I previously had gone to another tattoo shop in butte and was not happy with the way i was treated. and over charged for poor work. The owner of the flesh factory is very professional with his work and his drawings are superior to anyones i have ever seen!
First and fore most the owner is a PERVERT! 2nd I went there and one of the artists screwed my tattoo up. They went to deep and the crap pretty much started to fall off my skin and then I went to get a touch up (from the owner) and he wouldn't keep his hands in the appropriate places or his mind. Surprisingly enough the tattoo still looks like crap. So unless you want your actual flesh to look like its rotting away I WOULD NOT GO THERE!
First ... I am the owner and I treat all my clents with respect..if I am doing a tattoo I am doing just that nothing else if your tattoo was in a place u didn't want touched maybe you should have thought about that when placement was discussed.. I have tattooed thousands of people and had no complants about hand position. I also am very careful of my topics of disussion and if it was anything perverse you were the one to start it. I am sorry you were not satisfied unfortuatly even god himself couldn't fix every tattoo after someone else has done it.. if it was scarred from thee previous artist which does not work here any longer.. it still would be after I did it . My work and client base speaks for itself...99 percent of a well Applied tattoo's outcome is aftercare...sorry your visit if this is an actual client not another shop posting garbage was a bad one. We do our best to provide the best service we can. Can't win them all I guess
