Worst experience ever! I rented at the Bozeman airport. They assigned me a nice SUV that I had to wait 30 minutes on for them to clean. They finally gave me my car. We noticed something right away did not seem right. There was a loud noise. We decided to get off of the airport property just to make sure it wasn't the airport road causing the problem. Once we were off the property, we determined it was in fact the car, by then there was no exit to get back but the one before our hotel. I began trying to get ahold of the car rental so they could bring another car out. The phone rang over 20 minutes. I hung up and tried the reservation number but they didn't help. I tried the off airport enterprise, they too were no help. I called the airport site back and let it ring. For another 15 minutes it rang. By this time I was ill. After waiting at the airport for a car, they gave me a crap one, and now I can not get ahold of anyone. Finally, an hour after we left the airport, a girl finally answers and asks me if I can please hold. I said no I can't and proceeded to tell her what had been going on. Her excuse for not answering the phone? "A flight arrived and we were busy, we really couldn't hear it that well." First, I was a customer you sent out the door and stranded. I DO NOT CARE THAT ANOTHER FLIGHT ARRIVED. I WAS YOUR CUSTOMER FIRST. Second, I don't believe that no one could not hear the phone. While I was there I watched people through the window sitting in the back having lunch. There were guys cleaning cars that were in and out also. Nice excuse but a lie. I did end up being placed on hold anyway. After another 7 minutes, I hung up and called back. Only at that time was my issue addressed. 30 minutes later they finally show up to deliver my replacement vehicle. Welcome to Bozeman! One good thing about that day.... the hotel was able to accommodate an early check in. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Don't think I will be using enterprise again.
I reserved a van 3 months in advance. Upon landing, we proceeded to stand in line for 73 minutes at the Enterprise counter. None of the other rental agents in the airport had more than 2 or 3 in line at a time, I was #22 at Enterprise. Talking to others in the line, everyone had reservations. Once we signed all our paperwork, we were informed that the vehicle was on site but not yet cleaned. We would be called up in the order we arrived to get our keys. After another hour, we were finally on our way. We missed the first function of our vacation due to the 2 1/2 hour ordeal of picking up our reserved vehicle! We witnessed several people in line give up and go to other vendors.
I will say that the young man working the counter on August 24 was doing a fantastic job in a terrible environment. He was keeping his professional disposition while getting ripped apart by repeatedly for cars not being ready.
We've used many rental car companies including some of the "cheaper" known ones, such as Dollar. Enterprise at BZN gave us an "upgrade" from a full size car, only to find out it was a very small SUV that had trouble navigating the mountains. The engine revved loudly every time we had to go up, and the second day of our trip, the check engine light came on. The rental had almost 30,000 miles on it, so they obviously don't always provide the newest models. We were very glad we made it through our trip without a trip to the service station. As far as service, the guy made us walk to very end of the lot to get the car and told us to inspect it closely as we WOULD be charged for any marks on the car upon return. We found a big paint chip, so had to walk all the way back and stand in line again to report it, only to be told, "Oh yeah, we knew that was there." They also warned us that it was hail season and we would be responsible for any hail damage. We were glad it didn't rain!
